I am almost positive Peter Bonde and Peter Hansen Smedhaugen are the same person. There was confusion over a group of Hanson's (with an "o") and with an "e" in Minnesota, and Hansen reverted to used his wife's maiden name of Bonde to avoid problems.

My great great grandfather was Johann Bonde, he imigrated from Prussia (now Germany). I don't think he was ever in Nebraska though. He came to Wisconsin, and the core of our family has been here ever since. Unless there's a 2nd Johann Bonde. You can email me at cbonde101@hotmail.com to talk more.

I'm trying to locate an almost "Girlfriend" from my Jr. High days around 1968 who lived on a major street in Downey, California. Her name was Teresa Bonde' but has most likely changed the Surname with marriage due to her stunning natural beauty. It would be a pleasure to know how life has been to her and I would like to renew interest in her through correspondence. I'll have a question to ask that should confirm Teresa's identity. Everyone be well, RS

Here is more info on Johann Bonde,b.1841 in Mandershied-Treir.He married Maria (Margaretha) Lummerding 1875.d.1897 in Manitowoc Co,WI
When he lived in Nebraska,it was in Dodge Co city of Fremont.Possible connection to a Hienrich Bohde or Bonde. He is my great grandfather and I found that Lummerding came from Neef,Germany near Zell. There are many relatives on the Lummerding side of the family all from the same area on the Mosel River.
The Lummerdings came to the U.S.in 1854,I think Bonde may have also but I can't find any clues

This is so interesting because in every city I've lived in, there is hardly anyone with the name Bonde. My maiden name is Bonde and both my parents are from the Minneapolis area. My father is Thomas Dale Bonde (58) who is the son of Dale and Charlotte Bonde. Contact with the family was cut off in the late 1980s due to divorce. I know this is an old thread but it would be nice to get back in touch!

Dear Heather

Thanks for Your reply.
My father name is Ingvardt Bonde and not 'Ingvard Bonde', as I have spelled earlier.

I am living in Aarhus in Denmark.

Ingvardt Bonde was born in Lem , August-16-1900.
Lem is a small town in the west of Denmark, near to a town called Ringkoebing. He had two sisters an two brothers.
Their names was: META, ??? (died early), HENRY and MICHAEL.

As far as I know, he was living in Copenhagen until he went to Canada in April 1930.

The reason why I am looking for Cathrine Bonde, is because
I found her name in the passenger list on the same boat as my father used, but a month before. There can be several reasons for this, and I am not sure he knew her. In fact I don't know much about his life in Denmark / Canada before the end of WW2.

He joined the RCAF in 1942/43, And went to England, France, Belgium and Holland, and finally ended up in Denmark in May/June 1945, as an interpreter for the allied forces. During this period he met my mother.

He went back to Canada 1946, and came back in 1947 where he married my mother.

But to me, he was not the type who would bee single until he was 47 Years old - so he might have been married before.
At that time in Denmark this was not things You talked about.

I would be nice if I have any unknown family.

Regards Joergen
Dear Joergen

I am researching a Bonde family here in Canada. The father came from Denmark and we have recently been in contact with family there. Where in Denmark are you.

About researching in Canada, this you may find very difficult to do since Canada Census records only go up to 1911 before Ingvard's time. I have seen the name in my search it was Canadian Immigration Records for Mrs. Ingvardt Bonde 1930 to Halifax.

Please reply
Heather

I am related to the Bond surname. I was born Christine Bond. My Grandfather was Lewis D Bond, his Father was James D Bond and his Father was Lewis D Bond. My Uncle, Harold Charles Bond said the Bond's had been in Pennsylvania for a long time. He claimed his Ancestors were Swedish. Now I tried serching my surname which is Bond. I have nothing that shows my surname spelled Bonde. My GG-Grandfather was Lewis(Louis)Donnelly Bond b. 1835 in Pennsylvania. I don't know who his Parents were or when he died. I would like some information if possible about the Bond's if these names sound familar. The given names of my Bond's are Lewis, Louis, James, Joseph, Harold Charles, and Roy Milton. Also there was a Lewis Lorace Bond, but he died when he was only a few years old. I hope you can help.

Thank you,
Christine (Bond) Wilson

I'm researching John Gee born about 1635 who surfaces in Eastchester, Westchester, New York about 1665. His wife is Mary [unknown]. His children are Joseph (1676), Moses (1679), and Abigail. I was playing around on www.familysearch.org and came across the following marriage listing. This appears to be a transcription of a parish register however I have not seen the original.

John Gee m Mary Bonde 28 March 1665 Heavitree, Devon, England

Has anyone done any research on this couple?

Hi Eugene,
I'm Betty (Bonde) Sweet and recently I began searching for my Bonde relatives. I saw old messages from last year on rootsweb message board and am wondering what knowledget you have may have. I know my relatives are from Norway.

Tollev (Thomas) Bonde born 1870 in Norway married Anna Marie Sannes in Skagen Minnesota (Roseau County) on February 1901. They had two children together (boy and girl) one of them was my grandfather Arder Silvau (Arthur Sylvester) Bonde born June 1905 Badger Minnesota. Arthur had two sons, one is my father DeWayne Bonde born 1937.

I know Tom had two brothers and one sister. One of his brothers was named Andrew. The other brother, I don't know his name, owned some sort of a fishing company in Minnesota or maybe North Dakota. My father, DeWayne Bonde, believes Tom Bonde had ties to North Dakota in or around Grand Forks.

Have you heard of any of these names? Are you related to some Bondes from Norway?

Thanks so much,
Betty

I don't know that much about Peter Bonde. I have a photo of a man who belongs somehow in the family, but I don't have anyone with that name that I can trace in our family. I don't know his parents' names. I don't know where he lived. I have been trying to attach the photo, but I can't make it work.

If anyone thinks they know a Peter Bonde, send me your e-mail address and I'll mail you the photo.
His father's name was Hans who originally came from the Smedhaugen farm in Nordre Land in Oppland. The last information I had about him was when his parents left Norway with him as a toddler. I have absolutely no information about any siblings.

I'm not really entirely sure who this Peter Bonde is and how he got into our family.

I know of two Bonde families that lived in Minnesota at that time. There was on in Mc Leod County and another in Rice County. The one in Rice County had a historical farm.

I just need to ask you a question. Does he have a sister anmed Dagmar? Or a father named Lawernce (or in similar spelling)? For I will have more information to send you.

I just recently came into a family photo of someone named Peter Bonde. The photo appears to have been taken around the 1880s. The woman who sent the photo said that he is related to Skinnerliens from Nordre Land in Norway. I have absolutely no clue who this person is, but am dying to know.

BTW, I did lose a Peter Hansen Smedhaugen, born around 1850, out of my family tree. Is there any possibility that Peter Bonde could be Peter Smedhaugen? Help!!!!

As far as I know her name is Dagmar Bonde born in Minnesota. She married a Gustav Wick abt. 1916. They (as I know) two children: Louis (my grandfather), and Marie (Ruschmeyer). This is all that I do know about her. Oh, you will find her in the 1930 census on McLeod County, Minnesota with her husband and son. The hand writting is hard to tell what the spelling of her name is. I have an Aunt looking through records. Besides that this is all we know.

my husband is interested in locating his 1/2 brother. their father was WILLIAM ROBERT BONDE, born in brooklyn, ny in 1883.
according to his draft registration in 1818 he was married with a child (under 12 yrs.) and living in the bronx.
he re-married in 1933, and neither he nor his wife ever mentioned that he had been married or had a child until his death in 1953. this brother then called my husbands older brother and introduced himself - never to be heard from again.
does this sound familiar to anyone? is there a bonde out there missing family??
I am Alfons Bonde's Great great grand-daughter. My grandfathers name was alfons axel Bonde/ and so was his fathers. My grand father died in 1989 in Lake Zurich ILL, and my great grandfather died the year of my birth. My grandfather was married to Patricia Bonde (knox) and divorced her in the 70's. She and him are both deceased. I am an adoptee and my mothers name was Barbara Jane Bonde 52-82. She was considered a pituitary midget and I guess it (the dwarfism) can be traced back in the family somewhere. I am recently reunited with my birth family, and my aunts unfortunatly are pretty closed minded and won't divulge much info to me. I found this all out via my great Aunt Jane Alfons's sister. I know he has a brother named James Bonde as well. I know we are related to great king carl from the bonde side and from the knox side I am assuming we are related to Hemingway. How distant I am unsure. Email me we could be related!!!

Amanda
12/16/75
Born a Bonde, renamed by adoption

Please email me if you are related to a BONDE family from Barnes Co., N. D. - margerice@prodigy.net.

I have a grand old photo, taken in about 1905 of "Fred B. Bonde, of Valley City, ND" - taken while at Earlham College, Richmond (Wayne Co.) Indidana. He looks to be about age 20-21. I have done a 1930 census search for Bonde surname in Barnes Co., ND and find that there was only a Bernt Bonde, age 67, with wife Maria Bonde, age 62, listed in Valley City, ND, and I suspect that this probably aret Fred B. Bonde's parents. Also, there was an Edwin M. Bonde, born July 1896, from Valley City, who was in WW1. Possibly this was Fred's brother?

If you know of a Fred B. Bonde, who would have been in college in Richmond, Indiana in about 1905, please email me.
