My research ends with a John 'Bonnell' and
his wife Nancy ( Farraday or Pandry )
arriving in the USA supposedly in 1774
... from the British Isles (may be Ireland).

With all the different last name spellings,
a connection is possible.

Sorry to gate crash the your messages but I have been trying to bring the Lichfield, Gentleshaw and Longdon Bonells in with the missing link to the Yorkshire branch
Both Matthew Snr and Edward Snr were sons of Robert Bonell (born 1738) and Ann (maiden name Ironmonger)I can take these back to mid 1600's but have not traced the Yorkshire side since Matthew jnr married Susanna Hague and had a daughter Mary Jane in 1852

I would welcome any info you have to bring your side of the family up to date on my records

The parents of Joseph Bonell of St Chad Licfield are John Bonell 1702 - 1782 m Ann Wildey 1709 -1771 they appear in my Family Tree. See attached page http://www.ms.cooper.btinternet.co.uk/wc01/wc01_211.htm. this site needs to be update with the latest info

We have been in touch a couple of times before, this message is a couple of years old now and I have a lot more on the Yorkshire Bonells than I did then. Edward was born 1805 the son of Edward Bonell and Sarah Tonks. Edward Snr born 1775 Bilston. Your 3xGt grandfather Matthew was the younger brother of my 3 xGt Grandfather Edward. I have an Edward Bonell born 1805. His family certainly were in Yorkshire in Kilnhurst. His Father, also Edward, hails from Bilston in Staffordshire. Do you have any further information that may tie these together?

I have details of Bonell families in Leeds, Hunslet, Bramley, Bradford, Sheffield and Kilnhurst (all Yorkshire), all descended from Edward Bonell, b. Bilston, Staffordhire (1775)

This Edward Bonell may be linked to Bonells in Farewell and Longdon (Staffordshire) - not yet proved.

My 4xgf was born in Warwick, England
My mothers side is Kick, there is a few hundred in USA.

John = apologies for not having replied sooner, have only just seen your message, would be very interested to get in touch with you, I have just got in touch with David Child who mentioned you and said that you had researched the name quite extensively in Rawmarsh etc. I am descended from Edward and Sarah, through Edward Bonell and Mary ann Elliot, and then Edward Bonell and Lucy Moon - Herbert Bonell and Emily Sidebottom - Florence Bonell - my Grandmother. I would be very grateful for any information you could share as most of the details I have so far on this family are from census and some marriage/birth certificates. There is a bonnel family that resided in Henry County, Forsythe Georgia around 1830. My greatgrandmother Prussia Anna Bonnell was one of the girls. Her father was Abraham Bonnel and he was born in NJ. Check NJ, there are tons of Bonnels there.

Does anyone have any information regarding Edward Bonell and Mary Ann Elliot? They married 1834 Rawmarsh, Yorkshire, they had a daughter Anne born Swinton by Sheffied in 1837 and they had a son Edward born Hunslet, Yorkshire 1847. There were probably more children.Any info appreciated.

I have several Bonells in my family tree, some of whom I believe emigrated to the US.

They are descended from the marriage of Joseph Bonnell & Sarah Thursfield ( a 1st cousin 6 times removed ) on 13th Jan 1793 in Saint Chad's Church Lichfield in Staffordshire.

Be glad to exchange any Bonell information.

Can you tell if any of your research indicates an \irish connection. I have a great aunt (Jane Heary/Heery) who married a Bonell. Their two daughters are since married, but still living with families in the Dublin area. I don't know how much information they might have on their Bonell cousins - if any exist.

I am looking for a Cynthia Missouri Bonel who married a James White Gloer. I believe their middle names are part of the clue to finding them. Both were born in Atlanta, Fulton, GA and moved in 1901 or so to Beaumont, Jefferson, TX.
