Hi,
I know the de Bongard, Bongar, Bungar were a Normandy family of glassmakers. I'm not certain but there are Swiss & German Bongards, but I descend via a Pierre or Peter de Bongard a gentleman glassmaker from Normandy who settled in Sussex, whose daughter Mary married my paternal ancestor Jehan de Thisac, glassmaker from Lorraine. The Bungars had a no. of the folk in glassmaking in that part of England for a while. He probably was the same Pierre who married in Normandy to a lady named de Cacqueray another glassmaking family. If you type in Bungar family on Google I think you should be able to find about the Sussex branch of that family.
