To return to your question. Francois Bonin who had two wives is one of the children of Pierre Bonnain dit LaChaume and sometimes called Sierre Pierre. Pierre Bonnaid dit LaChaume was born about 11695 in the Parish of St. Jacques L'Hommeau in Angouleme France. He was the son of Louis Bonnin and of Francoise Chauvin. Pierre Bonnain dit LaChaume married 1st to Bernadine Vrigneau on 12 Nov 1712 in Plaissance Newfoundland. Pierre Left Newfoundland in 1713 after the signing of the treaty of Utrecht sind 11 Apr 1713. He and many other people settled in the French colony of Fortress Louisbourg on Isle Royale. It was there that he took his second wife Marguerite Guyon(Dion) on Dec 2, 1717 She was born in Acadia in 1704 the daughter of Joseph Guyon and Marguerite Dugas. Marguerite was not yet fourteen years old when she married the widowed Pierre Bonin. This couple settled at havre du Saint Esprit by 1724. There is so much more information about these people. How do you connect with this family? The Bonnain family name became Bonin and was anglizised to many varying forms. My surname is the most common in Chezzetcook. Bonin is also used in Chezzetcook as well as Richmond County. All the descendants of Jean Francois Bonin are either Bonin or Bona. The name also varies to Bowman, Boning, Bonna etc.etc... Please contact me for more information.
