Hola Purusha

Hi Sue,
Not sure I can help you as in my case the Bonnin is French Canadian. My gggrandfather from Quebec married Mary Ward who was from Ireland. There was a lot of Irish immigrants marrying Fr Canadians in the 1800s so perhaps this is an alternate area you can research if your original lines of enquiry don't prove fruitful.
Good luck.
Danielle

I saw your postings from last yr about Joseph Bonnin and Mary Ward. I am also trying to trace Bonnins in Ireland (my father's grandfather was a Joseph Bonnin in Liverpool in the mid-1800s and thought to be from Ireland. He was married to a Susan Healey). I am stuck with trying to find the Irish connection, so if you have had any luck, I'd love to know as they may have been connected as its such an unusual name. Thanks.

Hello Danielle,
I have been doing some cross referencing and I believe the Neil and Bridget Ward couple, parents of Mary Ward are NOT
the parents of the Mary Ward who married Joseph Bonin Senior
in Fort Coulonge Quebec Canada. I believe the Mary Ward who came to Canada in 1847 was too young.
Other researchers have suggested that the parents of the Mary Ward I am looking for might be Thomas Ward and Ann
Felinne. I cannot find much about these Wards at this time unfortunately. I am considering the possiblility that the Wards I am looking for could be Protestant people so may not be showing up in Catholic church records.

My
great grandfather was their son Joseph born in 1860.
At the time of their death they were spelling their name
"Bonnah" not bonnin. Joseph died in 1887 and Mary died in 1879 I believe. I am looking for any information relating to where Mary Ward-Bonnah was born in Ireland particularly
but will be grateful for anything about Joseph Bonnin (Bonnah) that you might have.

I am responding because I have decided to start researching my family history. Okay this might get confusing, on my family tree I have Anita Korbitz, who is my G Grandma on my Dad's side. Anita Korbitz is the daughter of Peter and Lillian Korbitz. Peter is the son of Herman Korbitz and Clara Meyers. Through my research I have found more info on Clara Meyers, but none on Herman, except he was born May 1840 in Saxony, Germany. Is there any info that you have beyond Herman Korbitz? Or even the maiden name of Lillian Korbitz?

They lived in Fort Coulonge, Quebec, and their children were: Thomas (my grandfather 1860-1945), his twin William (b 1860), John (b 1862), Elinor (b 1853), Elizabeth (b 1852), Agnes (b 1856), Hanagh (b 1855), Joseph (b 1860), Philomene (b 1864), Addaline (b 1867), Margaret (b 1869), and Mary (b 1870). NOTE: Thomas my grandfather was always known as Bonnah - the name was changed after 1881 census.
Any info much appreciated.
Danielle

Would also need help identifying the other 3. The photo was taken about 1890-1900. Also have information about Clara's parents Mathias Meurer/Meyers and Katharina Mertes and their children.

I am looking on information on these ancestors.

George Beausoleil was born 22 May 1888 in Centerville, RI. In 1914 he married Clara Don Ames in North Attleboro, MA.
He died 10 Feb 1973 in East China, St. Clair, Michigan.

I have infomation stating that his parents were both French speaking Canadians named Rock Beausoleil d.1911 and Louise Bonnin d.1914. They had children named: Peter, Mary, Clara, Jenny, Albina, Rose, Len, Lillian, George, and Fred. I belive that most were born in RI and that several later immigrated to Canada. Albina later moved to Sasketuan.

If you have any information on these people please let me know at gibson-ca@prodigy.net

You probably have this, but David Louis Bonin, son of Joseph Bonin and Marie-Anne Pelland was married to Angèle Paradis, daughter of Constant Paradis and Françoise Lavigne in Sainte-Élisabeth QC 25 OCT 1885.

I would welcome any information on their descendants. I know there are some in the Penetanguishene area.
