I am involved with doing research on the Brooks Family. In a book by John Mack Faragher titled "Daniel Boone, The Life and Legend of an American Pioneer", there is mentioned a Thomas Brooks who was a scout for Daniel Boone and Thomas'
brothers Samuel and William Brooks were also involved with Daniel Boone. In 1778, these three Brooks were captured on Blue Licks. I would like to know if anyone has any further information on this incident. The Brooks lived in Yadkin County, NC. They were also Quakers. Also, an in-law Mary Martin Stanfield Mendenhall and her husband and John Mendenhall were supposedly was on the first aborted trip to Kentucky. Any info or suggestions on where I could find further information would be helpful.
