Surnames: Boone, Bryan, Westrope
Greetings...
I'm a descendant of Abner Westrope (1799-1860), now working on that branch of the family. I've been reading a lot of confusing and conflicting information about the Boone connection, so I have a couple of questions that maybe someone will be kind enough to assist me with.
1.) Is it generally accepted that Abner is the son of Hannah (Bryan) Westrope (perhaps illegitimate, along with two other children, Dulcena and Elizabeth)?
2.) I've read that Hannah Bryan's husband, John Westrope, died about 1786. What's the documentation on that? Was there a will or probate record?
I have a pretty good record of Abner's travels from the 1820s forward, but any info on his origins would be greatly appreciated.
