John Boord - Bord

I'm looking for John Bord who married Melissa J. Brown in Wells Co., IN, 25 Feb. 1883. I have no further information on either one and am having a difficult time with "Bord." Could it be "Boord?" I find a John Boord in Fountain Co., IN, who married Rose Campbell 19 Sept. 1883...could this be the same man? I realize the marriages are close together but stranger things have happened, and I know Melissa died young.

I am interested in your Boord Brood book as am a descendent of Samuel Elkington Boord b. 28 Aug 1816 (Batheaston, Somerset, England).

Samuel migrated to South Australia in 1838.

My grandmother was Marjorie Riva Elkington BOORD (1902–1989). She was the daughter of Harry Elkington Boord (1871 – 1944). Harry was the son of Henry John Boord (1844-1885) who was the son of Samuel Elkington Boord.

My interest is in Harry Elkington Boord and what happened to him as he appears to be something of the black sheep of the family.

I would appreciate it if you could send me any information you may have gathered on this branch of the Boords.

I have some extensive research on the Boords, also Colebanks-Mary married James-who was in the civil war, I have a copy of James' civil war record, If you want more info let me know.

I have Traced the Boords to Casper Everly who was in the Rev war, I also have Rev records for Patrick board-sometimes known as Boord, but not sure how he is related

I found out that I traced the Boords back to Caspar Everely in the Rev war, he was GA washingtons horse keeper and was there at yorktown.

My great grandfather is also Ora Ocavious boord, Great great grandfather is James Boord, but want to find out about the family before James, specifcally boords further back, I have info for a Patrick board(boord?) who was in the Revolutionary war, but not sure how his is related. Also the Colebanks are interesting too want to find out more about them too

Thank you ever so much ... it's been such a "brick wall" for me to get back to England. My niece and her husband are stationed with the USAF at Lakenheath (spelling?) for another couple of years. She will love knowing "where" to go for part of her family history.

Nice to meet you too. Thank you for the pictures. I had a very old picture of my GG grandfather but not one so nice as you sent. My father has completed the tree back to 16xx to Andrew Boord of England. I need some time to retreive all of his paper work. I haven't looked at it since he passed away. I'll send you what I have.

Hi, my maiden name is Boord (born in Greene County, PA).
My father, James Albert Boord, was born in New Salem, Fayette County, PA in 1925 to James Russel Boord and Helen Gladys (Mundell) Boord who lived in Carmichaels, Greene County, PA.
Any information on the Boord roots/ancestry will be appreciated.

My records show your grandfather, James Philip Boord (born 1901), and your great grandfather, Ora Octavius Boord (1873-1983). Ora was the older brother of my great grandfather, George Ray Boord (1875-1928).

So, we are 3rd cousins. Nice to meet you!

How far back with the Boord family did your father get? Would appreciate sharing information with you. I live in Texas but have Boord cousins currently living in Greene County, PA.

I believe I am the gg grandson of James you are talking about who served in the civil war. His son was Ora boord who was my g-granfather. My grandfather was James P. Boord and Father james E. Boord. Before my father passed away he had completed a lengthy research of the Boords and I currently have his work.

Hi, my maiden name is Boord and I was born in Waynesburg, PA, but we lived in Carmichaels near my grandparents. I need help with my Boord ancestor, George or Thomas born about 1800 & married Susannah Bowers (1805-1900), and had 6 children before he died after the 1850 census. His children were Joseph,Sr.(b 1833), July A (b 1835), Rebecca (b 1838), James (b. 1839- my gg grandfather), Jacob (b 1841), and Charity (b. 1846)who married Jasper Clemmer.

If you have any information on the ancestry of any of these people, I will greatly appreciate any help you can give.

Tompkins is the adjoining county to Tioga so that makes it very likely we have a connection. I've got census records for both Tompkins & Tioga for the Sager & Meeker families I'm tracing. Quite probable my Phoebe Meeker marrying John Sager & your Usual Meeker m. Sarah Dudley are sibs. Meekers have a pretty long & colorful history in New Jersey. I've linked my Usual to them.

Hi, the Usual Meeker I have was born in Tomkins Co. New York in 1811. He married Sarah Dudley in Butler Co. Ohio and died in Fountain County. I haven't got any further information on him but I can try to see what I can find for you. Since your Usual Meeker died in New York, which was where mine was born, it could possibly be his father. His death date would seem to be about right. I will see what I can find and get back to you on this.

I received info that is apparently not correct. I have George Boord married to Susan Gadd,no dates, daughter Elizabeth married to Absolem Jenkins,son Samuel Elijah Boord Jenkins, son John O. Jenkins, b.27 Feb 1859. I also have Thomas Jenkins,m. Delilah Gadd (Susan Gadd's sister), son Absolem Jenkins, son Samuel Elijah Boord Jenkins. I am just getting started looking into the Boord lineage. I would love to know more. My father is Clarence Dana, his father is Alonzo Alexander from Reedy, WV. I don't know a lot more than that. I would love to chat more about this.

I think an aunt had the name changed from Board to Boord.
