My Pittsburgh Lewis family is related to Pittsburgh lawyer Edwin M Stanton. We have a Booth family buried very close to my family and I believe they are relatives in some way.

You can get an idea on this issue by reading Benjamin P Thomas' book STANTON. On page 68 a few lines down he states Pittsburgh lawyer Edwin M Stanton married Pittsburgh Socialite Ellen Hutchison a descendent of Meriwether Lewis.

I believe John Singleton Mosby is married to one of the Clarks of the William Clark family. William Clark was the partner of Meriwether Lewis in the Lewis and Clark Expedition out of Pittsburgh in 1803.

I also believe the Mosby's are related to the Pattersons of Baltimore.
