Has anyone heard anything more on this? I am related to this line through Clarinda as well. She is my 5th great grand aunt. I have not been able to find any family members on the rolls at all, and would LOVE to find pictures of family members. (Im a photographer so I am always intrigued by old photos!) Any help is appreciated! Feel free to look at my tree, let me know if you find anything you feel is wrong.
http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/8184328/family

You probably have discovered the work done by Clyde Boots on this family. If not look for his book online. Yes, I am a descent also of Adam Boots. Their is an interesting story about Martin Biedert and his capture and escape from the Indians. Look it up online also.

I am ggrandaughter of George E. Boots who was married to a McClanahan and later to Susan Meadows. Don't know if I have any info that will be useful to you but is always nice to meet new relatives! I believe it was my cousin
"Bootsfam" that you replied to and I am sure he has more info on your branch of the family than I do. If he doesn't reply in a few days, I will try to contact him and tell him you are trying to reach him. Until then, I would also love
any info that you have on George and the rest of family and to "meet" you and your sister. Do you have photos? Would love to hear from you.

I am a native of Oswego County, NY and spent many years in original records researching the family of Thomas Boots & Hannah Tree, of West Monroe & Constantia. Of their 16 children, none were named Joseph.

Could it be that you have a descent from another, unrelated, Boots family? I'd be happy to provide sources for my information.

Best,
Kevin

Hi Michelle & Jenny

I can't be absolutely certain but think that Thomas Wenham who married Eleanor Boots came originally from Northiam, Sussex. It does appear that they moved there after their marriage, and I have the following for their family...

Susan or Susannah daug. of Thomas/Eleanor, born about 1786, married William ROOTS at Northiam c. 1805.
Eleanor daug. of Thomas/Eleanor, bapt. Northiam 22nd March, 1788.
Amy daug. of Thomas/Eleanor, born abt. 1790 at Northiam.

Hope I am not "doubling up" on information you already have.

My earliest known Wenham ancestors were John & Mary Wenham of Brede who were living in Ewhurst about the time of Thomas's marriage to Eleanor.

Would love to hear from you both - my email address is:
BAZZJO@aol.com

Regards
Joan Shiels

I understand you are looking for information about Chief Chulio Shooboots wives. Well, my 4th greataunt, Clarinda Allington/Ellington, was married to Shoeboots. Shoeboots captured her from a place called Morgan's Station, in Kentucky, at the age of 11 years. She bore him three children:

1. John, also called Cherokee John, who was next in line to the offic of Chief and all of Tuscoringo's Shoeboots property. Clarinda left Shoeboots, and unfortunatly, the Allington/Ellington's would not allow him to go back to the indian tribe.

2. Sally, she married a very handsome man, moved away from the Ellington's and started a tanning business on the Big Sandy.

3. William, had a very wolfish personality. After setting the dogs on his cousin, for no reason, his unlce tied him up for a day, beating him at different intervels. William was later bonded to Colonel Thomas Owingal, who used him to work in the blacksmith buisness, and coal/coke furnaces. William away before his time was out.

Someone has worked very hard on this website but I am very sad to see that he has posted complete birth dates of living people as well as personal notes. I have written to him directly and requested that he remove them from my direct family--immediately. I just used Google and found this information out there. This world isn't an innocent place anymore and we need to protect the living and unfortunatly once the cat is out of the bag it is difficult to get him back.

So, please be less trusting then I am and do not give ANYONE information that you would not want shared openly.
