Borba is the Name of Village in the South of Portugal, Alentejo Province. - They produce pretty good wine in that area. Borba is defenitelly a Portugese last name.

I have a friend who is originaly from Hawaii, his father was Portugese and his last name is Borba. There is a quite large Portuguese American population in Hawaii. According to history, in the 1800's a large group of Portuguese from the Madeira, a Portugese Island off the coast of North Africa, got on a boat and sailed halfway arround the world to end up in a group of islands -Hawaii!!!
