Charlotte M. Borchardt, 93, F1611 Highway N, Edgar, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007 at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

She was born April 12, 1914, in Fond du Lac, daughter of the late Robert and Catherine (Steinenberger) Heppner. On June 16, 1934, she married William G. Borchardt at St. John Lutheran Church, town of Wien. He preceded her in death Aug. 18, 1969.

Charlotte and her husband, William, farmed in the town of Frankfort for many years. She also worked for Marathon Cheese, enjoyed frying hamburgers at Rib River Ballroom and worked in ginseng gardens for many years. Some of her favorite pastimes included quilting and cooking, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is fondly remembered by her family as an avid weather watcher.

Survivors include her children, Jean (Ron) Reiche and Carol Borchardt, all of Edgar, and Betty (Gary) Walters, Wausau; her daughter-in-law, Pat (Ardell) Emon, Stratford; her grandchildren, Dr. Jayne (Kurtis) Rowe, Jeff (Jill) Reiche, Gary (Sue) Reiche, Renee Walters-Meyer, Rob (Amy) Walters, Tanya Mikula, Rick (Pam) Borchardt, Angie (Frank) Guralski, and Amy (Cal) Reno; 16 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Stella Lamont and Bernice Hamilton, both of Abbotsford, Kay Schraufnagel, LaCrosse, and Robert (Rhea) Heppner, Maiden Rock. Besides her parents and husband, William G. Borchardt, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert Borchardt.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at St. John Lutheran Church ELCA, County Rd. N, town of Wein. The Rev. Jeff Tarras will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, town of Wein. Friends may call from noon Sunday until the time of services all at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, is in charge of arrangements.

I am looking for the daughter of Walter Robert Cofield who died 1955 in Shreveport, Louisiana. I just received a copy of his obituary today and it says that he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Robert Borchardt of Detroit, Michigan. I don't know her first name. In doing a search on Robert Borchardt in Michigan I found several. Does this Robert sound like he'd be a part of your family? I hope that someone can lead me to Walter's daughter.

My grandfather was Paul A. Borchardt 1875-1948. He was born in Germany and married Alvina Windelborn in 1902 in Evanston Illinois. His fathers name was Herman, mothers name is unknown. I am looking for any further information for Paul Carl August Borchardt b. 4/1/1875 in Techlipp Germany. Father Karl Charles Borchardt b. 5/16/1828 in Pimmern Germany, Mother Augusta Pauline Oldenburg Aldenburg (b. ?) Paul Carl came to the US in 1893 and settled in Morristown Minnesota. Married Wilhelmina Katherina Bauer in 1898 in Morristown. I cannot get back any further. Cannot locate a town of Techlipp or Pimmern. Any info would be appreciated.

Does anyone have a Heinrick Theodor Borchardt, born 1838? He was married to Rosaline Charlottte Albertinza Ziemke in Pommern, Germany. they had 5 children there. They immigrated to the US in 1883. They were supposed to go "west" but lost all their money in a storm at sea. They were able to travel as far as Buffalo, NY. and stayed with friends. That's all the info I have to work with. He came to live with his grandmother, Florence Emma Jacobs Carr Orr, in Rockwall after the death of his mother at the age of 8 years old. Can anyone tie into this family? Searching for info. Immigrated from Germany. will written in May 1929. Died before Feb 1933. Relatives mentioned in her will were GAMBERT, WARTELL, DAVIS, LUCHS, NOAH, and BORCHARDT (b-i-l Leopold and Fredericka). Her father, first name unknown Bernhardt, may have been married twice and I believe she is out of the second wife. I don't know the name of either wife.
Siblings and possibly half-siblings were Paul, Saul, Rachion, Minnie "Dovie", and Tina - all Bernhardt's. Believe most were in the NYC area. This is my husband's line - any help would be appreciated.

Have photocopy of death cert for Augusta BORCHARDT, wife of Robert. She died in Toledo, Lucas Co, Ohio on 11 Jul 1925 at the age of 56 1/2. Born in Germany or Switzerland 16 Nov 1868, parents names look like Herman RISCHKE and Elenora KUHLMAN. Census indicate children may be Earnest, Lidia, Annie and Erna or Erma, all born in Ohio.

Siblings Amelia, Annie, Herman, Mary(Marie), and Otto Borchardt.

Mary b.abt 1871, and Herman b.? 1895 were known to be in Steele County, MN before 1900. Both b. Germany. Have emigration dates for these two, Mary first, Herman as a young child later.

As far as we can tell---all died various parts of MN.

Have no parents---as yet for any.

Trying to get back to Germany.

Info coming in slowly on this line. Memories of those in family who have info are failing due to age.

I am looking for information on relatives of Friedrich Wilhelm Borchardt (12-17-1825 - 3-26-1903). He was born in Prussia, and died in Mesquite, Texas. He married Augusta Runge (8-3-1830 - 2-14-1921). They had 10 kids... Henry, Bertha, Harmon, Albert, Mathilde, Tedor, Carl Frederick, Fritz, Augusta and Minnie.

Hello, I am just beginning to research the Borchardt branch of my mother's family tree.
Carl Gottlieb Borchardt born abt 1817 Pommern married Frederike Wilhelmine ? born abt 1820 died aft 1880 since she is not on the 1880 census and Carl is widowed. Children: Carl August Frederick bn 1849, Heinrich Johann Wilhelm bn 1852, Wilhelmine Friederike Emilie bn 1855, and Emilie Frederike Dorothea (my great grandmother) born 1863. They are on the 1880 census with daughter Emilie, then 16; the other children must have gotten married or moved out on their own by then. I do not know anything of my Ggrandmother's siblings or parents.
I am not sure when they came over from Pommern Prussia but they settled in Marathon County, Berlin Twsp., WI. My GGrandmother then married Carl Gottlieb Hannemann in 1884 and they moved on to Lake County, South Dakota where they raised their family.

August BORCHARDT was born in Germany c1855, married in c1877 to Hermine DOGE or possibly DODT who was also born in Germany c1858, immigrated c1890, and was a janitor at the post office, living on Nicholas Street, Toledo, Lucas County, Ohio in the 1930 census. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary while living on Nicholas Street per a notice in the local newspaper.

Children per the anniversary notice were: August, Edward, Mrs. Bernard Wenzel, Mrs. Margaret Smith, Mrs. Marie Mahl, and Mrs. Elizabeth Smith. They may have also had a son Donald born c1909 but he was not listed in the notice.

Maternal grandparents: Clarence /Mable Williams(?) Smith
Other names include:

Is anyone else researching this line or know of any of these lines?
Name is spelled Burkhart, Birchardt, Berchardt, Borchardt, according to the way the census takers spelled it.
Children of Fred and Minnie were: Charles, Emma, August, Anna, Adolph, and Sophie. Fred and Minnie were from Germany and arrived in US in 1880 according to census.

Adolph and Sophie was listed at the Lutheran Children's Home on Seaman Street in 1920. Minnie was working as a maid and a widow.

Am looking for parents and siblings of August Borchardt. August was born Nov 17, 1861 in Germany. Died Dec 17, 1920 in Wylie, Collin CO TX. He married Louise Friedrich on Aug 9, 1887. Louise was also born in Germany. She died Jan 10, 1935. Both are buried in Wylie Cemetery and are my great-great grandparents. Census records say August came to America in 1883 and Louise came in 1885, but have been unable to locate a possible ship they may have arrived on. The only sibling for August that I've heard of is a Herman. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jo

Hello everyone. Nimrod Borchardt was born in Texas Apr 10, 1910 and is listed with his parents P A and Lela Borchardt in Collin CO TX on the 1920 census and in Denton CO TX on the 1930 census. I'm trying to figure out who P A and Lela are. I havent been able to locate them before 1920. (If I have the correct P A... I'm looking for any information on Ludwig Borchardt b abt 1818 died 1897, he married Charlotte Genskow she died 1898, they are both buried at the Hochheim River Church Cemetery.

Some of their children : Wilhelmine abt 1846, Frederich abt 1848, Johann Carl bd 6-6-1853 died 9-3-1859, Mary abt 1855. They are listed on the 1860 census of Dodge County, Theresa, Wisconsin.
