This is so old I doubt anyone will respond, but my great grandfather was Caleb Borden (son of Hiram), married to "Lizzey" Hessinger (his second wife), from NY. They moved to Michigan, farmed, and were dirt poor. My grandmother Leah claimed to be the daughter of Caleb and his first wife (name unknown to us), and told an odd story about the marriage of Caleb and Lizzey. Grandma (Leah Bordon Sullivan) taught us to say Hessinger with a hard "g," the German way. Caleb's children, as far as I know, were: Maude, Leah, Florence, and Howard. If I recall correctly, some were from his first wife and some with Lizzey. The other children lived in NY as adults. I have copies of photos of Caleb and Lizzey, and others.
They were tall people; my grandmother Leah was about six feet tall and was an avid baseball fan. When she was a young woman, she pitched hardball for the A.C. Spark Plug Co. team in Detroit. She had six children, including my mother, Shirley.
I'd love a copy of Caleb and Elisabeth's marriage license!
