I had a great uncle named Claude, who was born in Arkansas on July 25, 1881. He also had a twin sister named Maude, who died in 1882. Their last name was Hairston, not Borden, but their mother’s maiden name was Borden. Is it possible the two family names could have gotten mixed up?

As far as I know, my uncle was never married, but if he and your grandmother were only married a short time, it may have never been discussed in my presence.

If you think this could be your grandfather, please reply, and I can give you what additional information I do have on him.

Henry Borden b. 22 Jan 1898 in OK was my Great Grandfather. He married Minnie Mae ______ b. 30 Jan 1903. They had four daughters, Nadine, Jessie, Willie Mae and Grace b. 1 Mar 1925. I do not know Minnie Mae's maiden name and am stuck. Grace Borden Gibbs is my paternal grandmother. Although she has been quite helpful, it appears that there are many maiden names possible for Minnie. Snyder, Schultz, Lindley or Lendley are floating around. I can't find anything!!!

Henry Borden had a brother Dewey, who apparently got into some trouble in 1925. It is said that the reason Henry was a guest at the prison for a few years, was because he took the fall for Dewey. Dewey then went to Nevada/Arizona and worked at the Boulder Dam and died from appendicitis. (story as told by my grandmother, Grace)

Any information to help with the Henry Borden and Minnie Mae line would be most appreciated!!!

This is reallyyyyyyyyyy old, but worth a shot. My Great Grandfather was Henry Borden, Dewey's brother. My grandmother Grace Borden Gibbs is still alive. I have been trying to piece the family together for a while now. Any information would be greatly appreciated!

All of the Borden's here in the US are somewhere related to Lizzie. The earilest Bordens landed in Boston about 1630 and migrated towards Rhode Island. My dad said Lizzie, who he had met a couple of times, was his great aunt.

His aunt from White horse beach, plymouth Ma., said she knew Lizzie had done it.

1. Augustine b abt 1740 marr Mary Windle dau of John Augustine Windle Sr. & Margaret. Need parents & siblings for Augustine & children for him & Mary.
2. Elizabeth b abt 1780 marr John Windle . John was brother to Mary. Elizabeth may have been his 2nd wife. Need parents & siblings for Elizabeth & children for her & John. Date of their marr was 3 Aug 1803.
3. Jonathan b abt 1760 marr Elizabeth Windle who was sister of Mary & John. Need Jonathans parents & siblings & childrn for him & Elizabeth. Date of their marr was 1 May 1811.

I am a descendent of Phoebe Borden who married William Huffman in the early 1800's in Union County, Ohio.They were both from NJ, (she was born cirac 1815). I believe that both Huffman and Borden families setteled near Cincinnati first and then moved to the North Lewisburg, OH area. If anyone is interested in these families, please let me know.

I have a Thomas Borden in my past from Ireland. He was born in 1829 and moved to Vermont and married a Mary (also Irish). I do not have any info on Thomas prior to his moving to vermont.

Hi,

My name is Vivi Bodin and I live in Sweden. I am trying to help my husband to find his ancestors in Canada. His great grandfather, Per Bodin left Sweden 1902. He took the name Peter Borden in Canada and worked for the Dominion Coald Workers. He was found ded in a shack at New Aberdeen, Nova Scotia the 5th Oct. 1925.

No one ever heard from him after he left Sweden, so maybe he had a new family in Canada.

On his Certificate of Death it says he died in Glace Bay, and his residence was at New Aberdeen. The name of the attending Physician was W.T Sullivan and the undertaker was W. Curry & Son. Name of Cemetry: Greenwood.

We would be most grateful for any kind ot information, hints, suggestion or help.

My Great Grand mothers maiden name was Coons. Her full name was Lela B Coons. She married a Will G Hendrick. I do know that she was born in 1889 in Texas,but not the exact location. I have idea of what her parents names were though, but I do have some awesome pics of them and even her Grandfater. The older man and women are all Coons I know for sure, but do not know any names.

I have a Ida A Borden born to Newton D. Borden & Anna Whiteley Borden. But my Ida was born in Conn. 1860. Her father was born in Penn. and mother in England. In the 1870 census I have her in Penn.

I am looking for information on the parents/family of Ida A Borden. According to the 1900 US Census, she was born July 1860. All of her census records state that she and her parents were born in Indiana. Ida married Hiram S Penrod in 1881. She died July 1959 in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., IN.

I am doing this research for a friend of mine, who is a 94-year-old granddaughter of Hiram and Ida.

Safety Borden’s two hundred forty acres were granted to Abraham Lincoln on 11 February 1722. Sometime between 1710 and 1714, Mordecai Lincoln moved to Freehold Township Clarksburg, Monmouth County where his brother, Abraham Lincoln, owned a blacksmith shop and forge. Both Mordecai and his brother, Abraham Lincoln, interacted with the Borden’s in New Jersey.

Benj., James, Jonathan(b.1690), Richard and Safety Borden are listed as mortgagors of Captain John Bowne of Burlington County, N.J., whose will was proved 11 April 1716. Also on the long list was Judah Allen and Mordecai Linkhorn (Lincoln). [Note: Captain John Bowne was the brother of Sarah Bowne who had married Richard Saltar/Salter. Richard and Sarah (Bowne) Saltar were the parents of Hannah Saltar who married Mordecai Lincoln. About 1720, Mordecai Lincoln migrated from New Jersey to Pennsylvania]

How interesting! Thomas Borden, of Chittenden, Rutland County, VT is my great grandfather. His son Charles, my grandfather was on his way to the Klondike during the Yukon Gold Rush when another relative in Montana, on the Shelvey side, suggested he go to Idaho and get some of the available land and farm it. My father was born in Parma, one among six children born to Charles and his wife, Mildred.

We have been in VT a couple of times and visited the families' graves Pittsford. So we have some information. We've also been in Ireland and found some tracings of family history there.

What is your connection to Thomas and his family? You could have some details vitally important to us in our search. My dad visted a cousin in VT 30 or so years ago, but as I remember it wasn't a Borden...perhpas a Shelvey or Creed, Shannon, or...

Mary A. Borden was my great-great grandmother. My great grandmother was Tilly Ann Virginia Borden, older sister of Margaret F(rancis) and William T(aylor) Borden. Margaret and William were twins. Tilly Ann had married my great grandfather, I.J. Hairston in 1878, and was therefore listed with his household in the 1880 census, in the same district of Benton County, Arkansas.
