mrs. greathel borders nolan was my grandmother she had 4 children and was married to clarence sidney nolan they lived last at 1718 kings road shelby, n.c. i would love to find some of my family because all of my immediate family on this side is gone except scattered cousins im sure on borders and nolan side both i dont know. my mother emily jane nolan poston was the baby of clarence sidney and greathel borders nolan she passed away this past year with a 2 year battle of lou gehrigs disease on july 14th 2010. the next to oldest daughter catherine lillian nolan hayes who was just like a mother to me and i loved as a mother figure and took care of to passed away on march 19th 2010 before mother. the oldest sister marie nolan turner who was married to albert turner passed away in 2002 she was a very sweet and dear aunt. they all had one brother my uncle clarence sidney nolan, jr. who was married to bernice gibson nolan both deceased she died in 1993 and my uncle mothers brother doc as they called him died in 1999. albert turner maries husband died in 1987 from cancer the year after my father samuel mcbride poston jr. wife of emily nolan poston he died in 1986 from cancer. roy neil hayes who was married to my 2nd mother and aunt catherine lillian nolan hayes he passed away in 1981. so all the immediate family i was left with and was so close to passed away last year that was my 2nd mother and aunt catherine lillian nolan hayes who was 86 and passed away on march 19th 2010. and then my mother emily jane nolan poston who was the only one left whom i lived with and always had and took care of to she passed away from lou gehrigs disease 2 year battle on july 14th 2010. i had no brothers or sisters just an only child. this was totally devistating to me as you can imagine i had no one at all and still dont i feel like i had a nervous breakdown due to that in september 2010 and due to that lost my job of 20 years at the cleveland county clerk of courts office, so i got a double whammy it was bad enough to loose your family but your job of 20 years on top of that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i had a wonderful grandmother greathel borders nolan though i remember her so well she was a good and sweet christian lady she got alzheimers and didnt know she was in the world or any of us in about 1980 or 1981 and catherine nolan hayes my 2nd mother and her daughter took care of her til she passed away in june 1992 in her home night and day i would go over each day and help take care of her and always helped catherine she was a special lady!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know my granfather clarence sidney nolan sr. passed away in 1976. but i do have memorys and do remember him!!!!!! my grandmother greathel borders nolan had many sisters and brothers all of whom are dead now the last two i knew that were living but recently died was buena borders hendrick queen who i believe died in 2004 i think and then margaret borders coley who lived in kannapolis who i think just died last year i think. i have a cousin louise biggerstaff that catherine and i both stayed in contact with before catherine and mothers death she lived just right near aunt margaret borders coley. before my mother and catherine got so sick and passed going we had all talked about how we really needed to go see aunt margaret but never made it. after the tragedys of the loss of mother and catherine in my life i called to let louise know and wanted aunt margaret to know to but when i called louise biggerstaffs home her son answered and said louise had to go into a nursing home and that aunt margaret had died i was in such shock over this that i cant remember when he said margaret died and didnt get a number to reach him at. louise i believe is the daughter of either aunt enda or aunt dora who were sisters to my grandmother greathel borders nolan i think its aunt ednas daughter i think. i dont know a whole lot of the history of all the things and there are many many many questions i wished i had asked catherine and mother both about the family history. i do have some framed photos though of the borders reunion from way way back when catherine was young and my mother was just a little girl and some other pictures of my grandmother nolans sisters and brothers together when they would have a reunion or get together you might find thes interesting if you are related to my family and if you would like to get copys of any of them yoou would be welcome to come do that anytime. hope i was of a little help to you!!!!!!!!
