Yes, I would very much like it if you could share information with me concerning the Borin family.
I live in the Salt Lake Valley at the southern end in Murray. It is by Sandy and Draper near the Little Cottonwood Canyon. My older brother Jerry lives in Farmington Utah, about 15 miles north of Salt Lake. He just retired from the Davis County Health Dept, so I would like to see him get more involved in our family history. I sure he will be very interested in all of your findings. Yes, my father was Richard Miller, the middle son of Lillis and Floyd Miller.
I'm sorry to hear about your Mom passing on last year. She and Tommy were a really nice couple. My husband, Joe and I visited with them several years ago when we were vacationing in CA.
Would you like to share what we have on the Borin family. I just found John and Louisa Borin in the 1885 New Jersey state census. And a baby Edward was there! That was the first time I'd found John here in the US. They were in Jersey City, that's just across the river from NY City, where Louisa and the other kids end up.
How close to Salt Lake City do you live? Joe and I and several genealogy friends are going to be there for a week of research between June 19th-26.

My name is Steve Thompson and I live in Murray, Utah. I just found your posting about the Borin

My grandfather is Edward Borin Bowers. He was on that orphan train with his younger brother and his older brother. My grandfather was adopted by the Bowers family in Missouri. They immigrated to Salt Lake City, not sure of the date. He stayed in Salt Lake and had 7 kids. They moved to Los Angeles, California in the 1920ies where my mother was born in 1926.
I just noticed that you are a Miller. Are you related to my aunt Lillis Miller? My mother Ruth Born Bowers (thompson) was her youngest sister and she just passed on last year.

I am wondering if your family came from Russia in the late 1800s? My grandfather's name is Vladimir Borin and he had an uncle that immigrated to the US. It's not a very common last name.

Katarina L. Borin and 6 of her children immigrated to the US in 1881. They settled in Brooklyn, NY. Her husband, Jons might have come to the US earlier, but I can't find him in NY. Katarina "Louisa" had to give 3 of her children up for adoption and they were sent west on the Orphan Trains in 1888.

we must be related as there are so few of us Borins. You think? My grandfather was James G. Borin. I know he was born in 1887 and died in Portland oregon in 1956. His parents were Frank and Alma. I also know he was from Kanas when he married my Grandmother, Vera Benson Borin (she was his second wife, first wife died and left him with two children, Ada and William) Any more info you can supply would be great,
