Hi Kim,

I have the same ancestors as kenyonheather so I was wondering if perhaps you could email me any information you have on the Boerkes? I know that Johann August Jakob Boerke died in about 1880 in Bomst, Posen then his second wife and children moved to South Australia. I also understand that the children from his first marriage to Johanna Caroline Ernestine Alberti went to the United States but I'm not sure as I don't know anything about them.

My email address is flippy_me@hotmail.com

Thanks, Emily

Peter Bork

I am searching for the parents of Peter Bork, born either Oct 1833 or Oct 1834, somewhere in New York. He married Elizabeth Bryant sometime around 1855, as his first child with Elizabeth was Lacy Ann Bork, born 29 Apr 1856 in Delano, Wright Co., MN, USA. I have run into a dead end trying to find the parents of Peter. In several census', peter stated that his father was born in New York. I do not know where his mother was born. Several people have contacted me and suggested his father's name was also Peter Bork and that he was from ireland; but, without knowing more info, I have been unable to locate any suitable candidates for Peter's father. I am at a stalemate trying to find anything about Peter of his parentage. Can anyone help please?

This is my family. My grandmother was Mary (Marianna) Bork, Michael (Michal) Bork's daughter, married Paul Pasternak. I have an excellent magazine article written by Virgil Bork that I can share. Just email me. I'd like to find as much information about the Borks and Pasternaks as possible. I know nothing about Micjhael or whether he had other children. I'd enjoy hearing from you and sharing information.
Steve Pasternak smpasternak@yahoo.com
Have a blessed day!

Kwiatkowski-Bluemke

My grandfather was Franz August Heinrich KWIATKOWSKI, born 11 May 1872 in Neufahrwasser, Danzig, West Prussia (today Gdansk, Poland). His parents were Joseph KWIATKOWSKI and Maria (born BORK). On a list I was just informed that KWIATKOWSKI is the Polish version of the German name BLUEMKE/BLÜMKE. Now this makes sense to me as my grandfather considered himself to be of German ancestry. He emigrated from Germany to Montreal, Canada, in 1912, and when he got his naturalization (citizenship) papers, he legally changed the family name to BLUME. Perhaps his choice of the name BLUME in the new land harkens back to the BLUEMKE origin. I have not had any luck finding information about his parents, Joseph and Maria. Perhaps I should be looking for the name BLUEMKE.

I would be interested in hearing from any who have further information to add about this.

I am searching for any info about my gg grandmother, Wilhelmine BORK.

Wilhelmine BORK m. John TETZLAF (dates unknown)

they had a daughter (my g grandmother) Mary Ann
b. 1888 d. 1974, Beaver, PA
who m. Joseph MOUROT (g grandfather)

Mary Ann and Joseph MOUROT had a daughter, Dolores June
MOUROT (grandmother) who married James Donald ROBERTSON
(grandfather).

Mary Ann had 6 (?) brothers and I believe at least one
sister "Tillie" or "Tilly" (perhaps Matilda?)

From what I have heard, my gg grandmother, Mary Ann TETZLOF MOUROT was an orphan. Her parents Wilhelmine and John died when she was very young.

She cried for her sister "Tilly/Tillie"? and I believe finally was able to live with her.

I was told she was adopted, but am not clear if a family adopted her, then she ended up with her sister, or what happened.

In my family no one knows, or has been willing to share, any additional information about Wilhelmine BORK and John TETZLAF.

If anyone can help by providing any information in regards to my family, especially Wilhelmine, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!

I am searching for any and all information on a Julia Bork. She is the daughter of Joseph and Albertina Bork of Germany. Approximate date of birth is 1895-1898.

Joseph, Albertina and five of their children (Loretta, Ben, August, Joseph and Rose) are buried in Detroit, Michigan. Julia is the only child not listed in any family materials. She was included in the 1930 census record found through ancestry.com.

She is listed as 32 yrs old. This would make the year of her birth about 1898, however the family arrived in the U.S., according to the same census, in 1895 but she was listed as born in Germany.

I have no other information on her. If this sounds familiar to anyone, please let me know.

George Christian Frederick Bork - descendants

I am a descendant of George Christian Frederick Bork and his wife Tabitha Chisam. He was born in Baden, Germany in 1750 and came to NY State prior to 1770. He served in the Revolutionary War and later was a prominent minister in several Dutch Reformed Churches in NYS.

I have accumulated considerable information on his first born son Peter who moved to Oneida County, NY in the early 1800's. I have very little on Peter's siblings...

Catherine Bork was born in Manor of Livingston, New York 02 FEB 1780
Elizabeth Bork was born in Manor of Livingston, New York 13 OCT 1781
Henry Bork was born 19 DEC 1783
Christian Bork was born in Pittstown, New York 19 FEB 1786
Zacharias Bork was born in Albany, New York 12 JUL 1788
Rachel Bork was born in Albany, New York 20 OCT 1790
Mary Bork was born in Tootsen Crick, New York 14 OCT 1793
Tabitha Bork was born in Dorlach, Town of Sharon, New York 22 MAY 1796
Jacob Bork was born in Schodack, New York 07 APR 1799
Margaret Bork was born in Bethlehem, New York 20 JAN 1803

I have recently updated my family pages on this Bork family. Here's the link if you are interested.

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~townoflee/Bork/bork...

I'd love to hear from any researchers working on this family.

I am not a regular user of Ancestry.com, so please reply to me at marymwillmore@yahoo.com. I was born a Bork. I have searched for years for the town my great grandfather came from in Prussia. My great grandfather, Michael Bork born 2-3-1838, supposedly came from West Prussia (one great aunt said from Posen). He came in 1866 with wife Julia Grams. Michael was either accompanied by a brother, Julius Bork b. 5-1-1846, or Julius followed soon afterwards. Michael's father, back in Prussia, was supposedly Martin Bork according to an obituary. They settled in Oshkosh, Wis. There are some descendants on the Julius H. Bork side. The family is rumored to be related to the Okreug family, both Joseph Okreug and Anton Okreug. I have no idea where any of them are from except Prussia or Posen. HELP.
