I am a greatgranddaughter of Sigmund Gnuschke and Amelia Borm Gnuschke. I am searching the roots of "Amelia Borm" Family. Possibly her father is Martin Borm and her mother is Louise Liek (not verified---still searching this part). They are all from Prussia/Germany. Help would be appreciated!

Borms from Tilsit Amelia Borm

Julius and Ludwig were taylors who came from Tilsit to Philadelphia on May 7, 1856.

Bremen was in East Prussia and quite a ways to the west near the northeast shore of the Baltic Sea was Tilsit which sits on the left bank of the Niemen 60 mi N.E. of Konigsberg(now Kaliningrad). The city was in the most north easternly section of East Prussia and has quit a history of its own. It is now in a region of Russia separated from the main land by many small countries.

The name Amelia has been repeated for several generations in the Borm or Born family, so it is possible that your Amelia is there older sister. Do you know what part of Prussia she came from? We would need to find their father and mother and some record of all the children. I have not found that yet. There also may be a Charles or Julius's middle name was Charles.
