Well, my grandmother is from PA, but Im not sure if she was born here or where her parents are from. Im pretty sure her ancestors landed in PA or NY. And the spelling of my grandmothers name was Borowitz, Im not sure if and when it was ever changed from Borowicz. I do know that she was Polish but I dont seem to know any thing else about her or any of her relatives (except her children and grandchildren)

My grandmothers name was Rita Borowitz, and I dont know anything about her side of the family because she passed away while her kids (my mom, aunts and uncles) were very young. She was 36 yrs old. She probably died in the late 1950s or early 1960's. I dont know her exact date of birth or death. Any help would be appreciated.

Borowicz in Buffalo NY - link to Krygier/Pawlowski/Kosiorek?

My father's maternal grandfather is Stanislaus Borowicz, married to Maryanna Baranczak. They emigrated to Buffalo NY in 1892. I have hit a dead end at that point, but my dad says he remembers his mother talking about her "cousins": Krygier in Bay City MI, Pawlowski in Menasha WI, and Januszak and Kosiorek in Buffalo and Batavia NY. I've found plenty of infomation about them all, including two Krygier-Borowicz marriages. But I haven't found the connection yet.

Dad remembers visiting Josephine (Pawlowski) and Bernard Dryer, and their daughter Marie and son-in-law Milton Walter in Menasha. Dad also remembers going with his mother to the Buffalo train station to meet an older woman from Menasha (likely one of the Pawlowskis) who came for the funeral of Antonina Januszak in March 1937. The funeral was in Buffalo, and the burial was in Batavia (30 miles east of Buffalo).

Thanks for any further information. I'd love to find the common link here!

/Mark Wozniak
