MICHAEL T. BORYS, SR.
HAWLEY, PA — Michael T. Borys, Sr, of Hawley, died Sept. 3, 2002 following an illness. He was 83.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Opsasnick Borys, of 57 years.
Born in Olyphant, he was the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Cabaj Borys.
He worked as a chemical operator of American Cynamid, Bound Brook, NJ. He was a soldier in the U.S. Army during World War II and had been a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and Queen of Peace RC Church, all in Hawley.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Michael T. Borys, Jr. of Hillside, NJ and Gregory F. Borys of Elizabeth, NJ; two sisters, Helen Lavelle and Josephine Borys, both of Olyphant; four grandsons, one granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass was held at Queen of Peace RC Church, Hawley, on Saturday, September 7, officiated by Rev. William B. Healey, Pastor. Special services were held by the American Legion on Friday, September. 6. Interment at Queen of Peace Cemetery, Hawley
