So you are a descendant of the Adamowicz family. That's wonderful that you were able to assist with the book on your ancestors!

I have a single picture of Anna Mattke during her visit--the date I have is 23 Oct 1931(from ship's passenger list which I have). Unfortunately she went home to Prussa, and was killed by the Russians when they invaded Germany in January 1945.
Benjamin Adamowicz witnessed my Grandmother's "Petition for Citizenship" on Dec. 14, 1934.

The Marriage Certificate I found for Erna says Erna l. Mattke Married John Joseph McKenna in Manhattan, NYC 08 Mar 1935. He was a NY State trooper (found him in a Census living in the Trooper Barracks) Erna changed her name to Edna MacKenna when she received her citizenship. In June 1941 she remarried.

Benjamin and Betty had no children together. The only other information I have on Benjamin is that he may have been born abt. 1898 in Poland. The source of this information was a family information sheet that one of Betty's 2 daughters (by Betty's second marriage) filled out for me. They said they had almost no information on Ben, and their Mom, Betty, almost never talked about him.

The only other information I have on Betty/Lisa/Elisabeth is that she ran a Boarding house in 1930 (Elisabeth Mattke-1930 US Census)I wonder if that is how she met Ben?

I would love for you to send any information or pictures on Anna and Betty/Lisa/Elisabeth. I have been trying to find out what my Grandmother did between her arrival in the US in 1925 and her 1941 husband. Family lore said she was a model (I have a professional photo she had done), then a seamstress at one of the better department stores. But that's not much to go on. Someday I hope to go to NYC to the Genealogical libraries and do more research.

Any information/pictures you send will be greatly appreciated. I will also pass the information along to Betty's daughters, and they can then contact you. They currently have someone assisting them to write their family history.
