"At the time I did my search in Italy for the surname, these are the towns that showed up: Parma, Perugia, Chiesanuova, Verona, Nanto, Vincenza, Marengo, Alessandria. In the U.S., Acadia, Louisiana. I don't think this is a "popular" surname."
I suppose you quoted the towns where the Bosco surname is popular, but I can't see listed Torino and Asti (Piemonte, Italy).
At the top of my family tree there's one man called "Marchese del Bosco" born in Asti in the 1200 ca.
