Also, my brother thinks that my grandfather, greatgrandfather worked in Philadelphia but they were on the Reading line.
Rosemary,
Couple of things...
You mention the Pennsylvania Train Company in your post. Are you assuming that that is the name for the initials PTC? If so, you are incorrect, it stands for the Philadelphia Transportation Co.
Next, I have a Harry Bosler in my family, born 1865 in Philadelphia, but he was married to a Louise. Maybe there's a second marriage somewhere?

I am looking for information on Augustus Bosler who married Christina Beavers in either Missouri of Louisana in the mid-1830s. I think he was born about 1818 in Germany, came to the US about 1827 and died Baton Rouge about 1845. Christina was born about 1819 in Germany and came to the US about 1830. After his death she married a Daniel Drake and moved to the St. Louis area.

In the on-line 1880 census, George is in De Witt, De Witt IL working on a Mr. Brown's farm.

Lewis (Lewes) also lives in Dewitt with wife Mary and has William, Henry, Robert and granddaughter Hatta living with them. The males are not labelled as sons, so a search of earlier Kentucky census records or a look at the original 1880 census may be required. However relationships were not included in many early records.

I have a different Bosler family, but the facts match very closely.

I have Henry Charles Bossler (family says Charles Henry Bosler) born in KY of German parents. He is at Goose Creek Piatt Co. IL in the 1900 census. He married Jessie E. 13 years before and has children all born in IL.

Goldie 1-1889 marries into my family
Orville 4-1890
Opal 1895
Wayne 1897

Henry is a farmer and owns his land. It looks like your Bosler should be related and be nearby.

I have just started to research my family tree and was somewhat daunted by the task and the fact that most of my relatives who might have remembered something have passed away. Anyway, I am a descendant of Jesse Hansell and Hannah Latch Hoffman and finding the Hansell family tree was very exciting.
Hi Danielle!

I don't have Raymond's middle name but if he lived around Kelso..maybe?? I do know there was another Bosler family in Washington and don't really know how they connect. Our Raymond was one of 7 boys. (one died very young) I found a record that he was born July 3, 1909 although on a census the age was more like born 1905. Is this the age of your Ray?? When I was little and visited our Washington branch of Bosler I know they had a chicken ranch. Please write me direct at rubyslippers@kc.rr.com. I'm so excited a Bosler finally posted and would love to share information.

Sharon

Hi Danielle,

I went through my records and figured out where I got that July birthdate and that is the other Washington Family. Our Uncle Ray had to be the one that was born Aug. 22, 1904...with middle initial L.....your Ray. I'll talk to my mom and uncle today about Uncle Ray and find out what I can. Write me. Does your family remember that Ray's dad was John and his mom Ella?

Bosler From PA

My family has roots in Dingsman Ferry PA. I can trace my surname back to 1816 only.
My gg/grandfather was John Bosler. I believe he was born in Eich, France around 1816 and died October 18, 1897 Dingsman Ferry Township, Pike County PA. He was married to Mary Ann Williams of Pondeddy, PA. who was born in 1825 and died in 1894. I lack specific information on Mary Ann Williams. I believe John Bosler and Mary Ann Williams had the following children: Emily (Emma), William, Catherine (Kate), George, Micklass?, Theodore (Dorie, Samule, Edward, Joseph, Albert, Martin and Charles Fred._
My g/grandfather was Charles Fred Bosler, born March 10, 1850 in Milford, PA. died September 9, 1936 Delaware Township, PA. Charles F. married Anna Mae Jaggers in Milford, PA. I lack information on Anna Mae Jaggers. Charles Fred and Anna Mae Jaggers had the following children: John, Nellie and Fred Joseph.
My grandfather was Fred Joseph Bosler born October 30 1886 Dingmans Ferry, PA. He married Evangeline Mae Adams. Fred Joseph Bosler and Evangeline Mae Adams had the following children: Kenneth Fred, Carl Arlington, Norma Bertha, Maud Helen, Morene Eva, and Judson Herbert.
My father was Judson Herbert Bosler born June 3, 1914, Dingsman Ferry, PA. He died June 20, 1999 Bent County, CO. and is buried in FT. Logan National Cemetery, Denver, CO. He married Anna Mary Orr January 1, 1939. Anna Mary Orr was born July 14, 1910, Albany NY, and died July 22, 1993, Englewood, CO.

Please forward any information about this branch of the Bosler surname to me at rbosler@uswest.net

I am trying to follow the LaPointe family tree. I have a Mary Basiliere as the wife of Arthur LaPointe. (my husbands grandparents) living in Winchendon Town, Worchester, Ma according to the1920 census, Mary's brother Peter was living with them at that time, also on 1910 census Mary's brother Antione was also living with them. Mary was born ABT 1877, Peter ABT 1879, Antoine 1882. I know they also lived in Crown Point NY, Waterbury VT.I was hot on the trail of Eliza when I found your posting...I cannot find anything on Mary or Peter, before 1910...Peter Basiliers's ww1 draft card lists a lizzie Basiiliere , butlington VT, as closest relative...could be Eliza.

Boslers of Philadelphia

Would appreciate any additional information on the following...
On August 15, 1820, John Bosler (9/15/1793 - 2/5/1863), a butcher who lived in Heidenheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, arrived at the Port of Philadelphia via Amsterdam with his wife Mary (1781 - 8/1/1866). There is a possibility that John was born in Switzerland but there is little corroboration of this.
In Philadelphia they gave birth to the first American-born Bosler, a son named John, born circa 1824 or thereabouts. They had two more sons after John, Charles C., born circa 1831 or thereabouts, and Joseph A. (1/8/1842 - 1923), and two daughters, Catherine W., born circa 1837 or thereabouts, and Sarah, born circa 1844 or thereabouts.

Thank you everyone that helped in my search for Louise Bosler. I did find her. With the several spellings of her last name it was a challenge! The different spellings were, Basler, Bassler, Bosler, and Bossler.
Eugene Boslear (Boslier, Basiliere)

I have an 1880 census record from Keeseville (Town of Ausable), Clinton County, New York State with my great great grandfather listed as Eugene Boslear. I know for a fact this is my great great grandfather Eugene Basiliere with most likely a non-French speaking person recording the information. His wife, Eliza Rougier Basiliere in listed along with three of their children: Eliza, Mary and Peter. Both Eugene and Eliza were naturalized US - born in Montreal, Canada - and the three children were born in New York State.

I also have a 20-Dec-1880 church record from Keeseville with the name listed as Boslier not Basiliere. I know for a fact these are Basiliere's because of the match-up w/dates and other family members.

Anyone else following this trail?

I just came across your message and was wondering if you could help me out. You said your family line is from Jacob who was a brother of Abraham. I would be very interested in any information you might have on him. Would it be possible for us to exchange info. I am doing a presentation in October on the Boslers and would appreciate any info you might have.

thanks.
