I'm glad I took the time to read old messages because you have helped me considerably, and perhaps my information might still help you at this late date. My information is that Elijah Bosley was the son of Benedict Bosley and Elizabeth Bosley (m. 2/5/1793 in MD.). Elijah was born in Bourbon Co., KY and first married Mary (last name still unknown) on 6/1/1825. Three children were born from this marriage: Eliza Jane, 1827; Rachel C., 1828 ; Martha, 1832. I believe that Mary dies in July 1834. Elijah marries Catherine Potts (your information :) - my family information only said Katherine, b. 4/21/1816, m. 8/19/1835, d. 11/16/1836). Thomas P. Bosley was born Nov. 8, 1836, and obviously, his mother Catherine died shortly thereafter. Elijah then marries Harriet Clayton on 4/13/1837. Two daughters are born in KY. in 1838 and 1839, and by 1841 the entire family moves to Rush Co., IN where two sons are born, one in 1841 and in 1844. My great-grandfather is Samuel H. Bosley, b. 1844.
Thomas P. and Samuel B. were half-brothers who grew up together, and I now understand that the initial P. originated from Potts - mystery solved!
My information is that Thomas m. Nancy Smith (b. about 1839) on 8/25/1854 in IN. and five children were born in IN. between 1856-1869. Around 1870 they moved to Grundy, MO. where it appears they had one more child together in 1871. Nancy dies before the 1880 census because Thomas is married to Sarah by then and more children are born beginning in 1878.
