My mother's maiden name is Bossard. She was born in NJ but all of her father's relatives were from Bossardsville, PA (outside of Stroudsburg). He was supposedly a descendant of Phillip Bosert (or Bossert) who was one of the first European settlers in what is now Monroe County, PA - sometime in the 1740's.
