I will try to explain this in the best way. From what I read, Bost, or Bast, or Baast, came from the Palatines, in Germany, whereas Gerge and his son Johannes Bost came from Germany, with family, and first settled in Berk and Buck County, Pa., back in the 1700s. In the late 1700s, the Bost families moved towards the South, where they settled in Cabarrus County, N.C. Check out the St. John Lutheran Reformed Church there. Many of the Bost people settled in Cabarrus. One that holds interest to me was Johannes' oldest daughter Anna Marie Bost who married Mark Haus/House, who fought in the American Revolution and had much to do with the Declaration of Mecklenberg County, N.C., of which Cabarrus came from. So if you check those references, you may come up with more of the Bost history. Good luck. Joseph
