Moses Bostick was born in what is now Greenbrier County, WV, but was then part of VA of course. He is my great-great-great-great Grandfather. Moses was a surveyor and "ranger." He fought in the Battle of Point Pleasant on the Ohio River under Col. Lewis in the war against the Shawnee. Hope that helps.

I'm looking for info on a William L. Strobert (or Strobhart) born in GA on 8 Jan, 1833, going back in time. He mustered in as a confederate soldier in Beufort SC in 1862, and ended up as a farmer in Dumphries, married to Angelica Hotchkiss, from NY. He died on 7 January 1894 when he choked choked on an apple. I saw your post about Mildred Strobert from GA, and wondered if you or anyone else knew anything relevant. Thanks.

I need some info if you have any please let me know. I have had this brick wall for so long and have spent so many hours on these two that I think they must have dropped out of the sky! Mary Jane Guy married Peter Bratton Bostick in 1853 Monroe County WV. Nancy married James Lewis Bostic in 1848 in Monroe County WV. I'm wandering if these two may be sisters or cousins even. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank You, Chery

Edward Hubert Bostic was my grandfather. He was born on
8 Oct 1906 at Glenns Ferry, Idaho. He died 09 Dec 1941. His sons were Wayne Richard Bostic and Edward Hubert Bostic. Wayne was my father. My name is Merry Bostic. I would love a picture of him or any information/stories you might have. My father was very young when Edward died, so he did not know much about his father. I would appreciate any information you would like to share.

Unfinished Quilt

Hi: A friend of mine recently purchased an unfinished quilt top at a flea market near Ottawa, Canada. It is composed of 9 large squares each containing a different flower, as well as a name, and sometimes a date. Two of the names are "Bostic" so I thought that I would post here to see if anyone can help. The names/dates are: Mother - 1926; Pearl Bostic - 1926; Gertrude B. Langdon - 1924; Nannie Lewis - 1925; Charlotte Malcolm; Elizabeth B. Murphy; Emma Wilson; Mary Nupp; Corry Bostic. None of these family names are found in this area of Canada. I have done a bit of "googling" and have found some of these family names in North Carolina and Pennsylvania, so it is possible that it was purchased in the US and brought back to Canada. If these names ring any bells, we would appreciate hearing from you. The good news is that my friend has completed the quilting project.

Many thanks. Kathryn

Hey! Yes I'm trying to find some loose ends! I think that some of our relatives just dropped from the sky!! I get frustrated with it and leave it alone for awhile. Right now I'm working on the Bostic/Dowdy trees. Most of these are around the Monroe and Greenbrier Counties. I'm also working on the Pence family from Monroe County. If you have something I can help with I would be glad to try. I don't have as much time as I would like to work on this. I have other trees I'm working on too so I have to swap around a bit. Keeping my 4 mo old grandson for a bit so less time than before. If I can help let me know. Cheryl P
