According to the genealogy research, the name "Boughner" was changed from "Buchner." How or why this happened is not known. May have had something to do with the Revolutionary war, where some of the "Buchner's" were loyalists and some were Patriots. The Loyalists had to remove themselves to Canada, as they were not very popular here.
