Hi,

My name is Kim and I've just started to look into my family history. I know nothing about my family tree and would love to know more.

My nan is Kathleen Elizabeth Boult, born 14th November 1928 in Stoke-on-Trent. I think her mum is Caroline Walley?? and her dad is William Boult. My nan died in 1979 the year before I was born and would love to know more.

If this is something you could help with that would be great and I would love to hear more.

Hi Richard,the Reginold Boult you have mentioned is definitely my grandfather. I dont have much info on his first wife lockett but his second wife Ida Wigman was my dads step mum, i will however get get my grandfathers birth certificate to get more info on his parents. thanks for your replys.

As I say, at the moment I don't have a paid subscription. But even without an account I can see:-
Reginald Swinton Boult, born:1924, Lancashire
Reginald S Boult, married: Lockett, Lancashire
Reginald S Boult, married: Wignan, Lancashire

Assuming this is your grandfather, he is quite likely to be the son or grandson of Reginald G.L Boult, born ~1877:Liverpool, (descended from the Boult&Swinton families) who is in one of my trees.

I have info/tree going back to
William Boult, b: 1630, Leicestershire
John Swinton, b: 1688, Cheshire

This Reginald G.L Boult was second cousin to the famous conductor, Sir Adrian Boult.

If you are new at Genealogy, can I suggest the following process:-

Get a Birth Certificate copy for your Grand Father, to see who his father and mother were. If Reginald G.L Boult is your Great Grandfather, I'll send all I have if you send me what you have.

If your great grandfather is not Reginald G.L. Boult, then more research is needed. Probable best place to start would be the 1911 Census.

My grandfather Reginold Boult was born 4 Aug 1924 died in 1991 he lived in Manchester and was in WW2.

There a few Boult bike families even within my Boult family tree. At least in Stafford and Rugby, with branches in Stone and London. And I think one other.

Sorry no luck this time. But there might still be a link, further back, with such a coincidence of names.

I've gone as far as I can online for my Boult family.
I'm now researching ALL the Boults for Staffordshire, Shropshire, Cheshire, Lancashire (and possibly Hampshire and Devon too!).
(Living in Australia it's a bit hard to the on-ground research, though my elder brother, who lives in France, is in doing the same research, and often goes to England, so will be helping)

Sometime in the future I hope to try and get a complete handle on all the Boults in England.

So, for future research, can you please grant me read access to any of your trees with Boults in.

Ellen was born in Islington I found. Their daughter Nancy was born 1927 @ 84 Richmond Road, Wimbledon, Surrey but I have not managed to find her still to make contact. It is possible she is no longer alive of course or that she married.

They had a daughter Nancy Baldry born 1927 at Wimbledon, Surrey. Francis is thought to have died soon after Nancy was born. They lived at one time at Raynes Park, SW 20.

I have a Maggie Ellen Boult (b: 1889, Stone, Staffordshire) (http://trees.ancestry.co.uk/pt/person.aspx?tid=7021216&p...), would be a fair chance of a match.
Have you acquired a marriage certificate, or death certificate, which would give the birth place and possibly date.
