Oswald John Christmas Boulter

Hello, I am tryng to find out information about my great grandfather Oswald John Christmas Boulter's date of death. I believe he died about 1952 possibly at Cheltenham, Victoria. He was married to May Matilda Fegan in Echuca and lived in South Yarra Melb, victoria. (Australia) They had five children: Oswald Lindsay Gordon, Elsie May, John Theodore, Colin & Roland. I hav found evidence that he was still alive around 1929 but any further evidence is impossible to find. Any help with query would be greatfull.

Rebecca Boulter maiden surname Topley

I have just discovered there is a GRO error in the death record for Rebecca Boulter, ms Topley. Under the GRO index 1909, Vol 7a, Page 110, Barrow Upon Soar the GRO spelled her surname incorrectly as Boulton when in fact it is Boulter. She was my GGG grandmother's sister. Rebecca married William Boulter Nov. 25, 1838 Church of Seagrave, County of Leicester. They didn't have any children. In the 1901 UK Census #RG 13/2980 Thrussington she was living with her brother William Topley and his son, her nephew Edward Topley. It was her nephew Edward Topley who was present at her death Jan. 17, 1909 in Thrussington.

In the Nov 25, 1838 marriage of William Boulter and Rebecca Topley I can add another detail.
The witnesses were George Boulter and Frances Boulter.
Perhaps the combination of William's father George and the witness Frances will point you to a particular family line or regional area.

Hi, I am from a Boulter background, but do not think attached to your tree.
However have found a George Boulter b1784 married to a Mary Rodwell abt1784. They married 24 Mar 1806. Children were Mary b1807. Jane b1811. William b1813 who married Rebecca Topley. In the 1891 cesus is William and Rebecca and Edward Topley a nephew b1818.
Found all this from owner Rmault155 who is tracing this tree.

I have come to a dead end with one of my grandfathers George Boulter married to Catherine Daniell. Will still keep digging.

Have come to a dead end for George Boulter b1781 in Leicester Leicestershire and married to Catherine Daniell. The last census is 1841 Catherine died in 1845 so he would be a widower in 1851 census. His occupation was a cutler

My GGG grand aunt Rebekah Topley 1810 married William Boulter 1813 in the Church of Seagrave Leicestershire on Nov 25, 1818. William's father was George Boulter. My question is who is George's wife. I found a George Boulter married to a Mary Rodwell and a George Boulter married to Elizabeth. Does anyone know who is the actual parents of William Boulter 1813 Sileby LEIC?

Hi, yes Walter is in my line, he was the son of Herbert Douglas Boulter who was the son of Joseph Albert Boulter. Joseph was my great grandfather's older brother. I dont really have much on Walter, what I have is probably what your mum gave me. I know he married Nellie and I have a record of three children, Jacqueline,Raymond and Robert.

I will have a look and see if I can find anything further out. I do have the whole tree in PDF if you want me to email it to you.

I think I am too from the same line of Boulters. Jane I believe you sent my mum some information on the line some time ago. If I remember correctly you are the daughter of my grandfathers cousin. My grandfather was / is Walter Douglas Boulter born 1922. He served in the army, but I am unsure if this was lifelong. I do not have very much information on him and wondered if anyone could help. My mother last seen him when he briefly visted her when I was three - some 37 years ago, she think he was living in London at army barracks. Any help would be appreciated.

My name is Philip Boulter. I am new to tracing my tree and probably have nothing you will not have already have found out. But I have also gone back to Burford in my line of the Boulter family. I have William my Great grandfather as being born in Burford 1874. Also earlier members going back in oxford area but not known if they are in Burford.

Herbert and Susan (Pfau) Boulter had a dtr. named Thelma Boulter. Thelma married Axel Enoch Blomquist and they had a dtr. named Helen Gertrude Blomquist, born in Longmont CO in 1921. She was my mom, my name is Al Bond and I live in Tucson.

I don't have further information up the chain on the Boulters, but I think I've found some things on the Pfau line.

Hope someone is still out there looking for these folks.

Ann Pitty - Great Chishill

There were several of the Pitty family in Great Chishill in the 1800's. So far, we can not be certain of Ann's parents - she lived with Dinah Pitty, who ran the village shop in the 1841 census.Ann was born on 11th. February 1827. She married my Great grandfather, George Wood on 2nd November 1847 in St. Swithun's, Great Chishill and died on 8th. June 1910.

William Henry's birth was registered in A/M/J/ quarter, 1841, in the Frome Registration district.
(His parents Thomas Boulter & Ann Furzman were married in the same reg dist in O/N/D quarter, 1839.
1841 census returns (June 7th) recorded Thomas & Ann in Frome with no children so it seems WH's birth would have been between 7th & 30th June.
At the time of census, Thomas was a journeyman confectioner, following on the family tradition, although he later pursued other careers.

My Grandmother was an English/Irish BOULTER: Louisa Isabel Boulter b: December 1894 in Newington, Southwark. She married my Grandfather: Henry(HArry) PARADINE in 1913.
Louisa's mother was Irish I think...adelaide matilda BONYRIGE.
I have some more info re: her parents etc but not confirmed so....

Anyone know this person?? He married Agnes Mary Veal in 1938 in Lincoln, Lincolnshire. I can't find his death and I've looked on the 1911 census and I can't find him there either, beginning to wonder if he actually existed !

I am looking for information on my Great-Great Grandfather, William Henry Boulter. He was born between 1840 to 1842 in (I believe) Frome, Somerset, England. He married Ann Elizabeth Osborn(e) on May 22, 1859, in Yarmouth, Norfolk, England. They had 11 children:

I'm slow with this reply-sorry about that! I don't know of any of Hannah's kin other than what she married into. She was born btwn 1800-1806 in either Andover (Hampshire) or Pewsham (Wiltshire) depending on which census you look at, and married via Bans April 3, 1822 in Biddestone, Wiltshire to Isaac Davis of Bath. Unfortunately I know of no Elias Boulter. -- Carol in Denver

I believe I have found my great great grandfather listed in the 1881 UK census. At the time of the census he was resident aboard the Royal Navy vessel 'Inconstant'. He was about 19 and is listed as ships stewards assistant and it appears that he was born in Plymouth. There is no information as to his parents names. I

Family folklore/legend has him jumping ship in Melbourne in the early 1880s. He married Elizabeth Wilson they had a large family and were settled mainly in Hastings, Victoria.

Does any one have a James Richard Boulter in their Boulter line who headed off for life in Australia. Other vague anecdotes suggest a connection to a tradition of seafarers and a character called Sir Harry Boulter ?

I am looking for Frederick Charles Boulter born about 1874 in India. I have found him and his father: F.C Boulter on the 1881 Census on the Royal Navy Ship "Crocodile". His father was a surgeon.

In 1904 Frederick Charles married Rose Amelia Burtwell in London, England. If anyone out there has information regarding these people I would love to hear from you.

Hi, the only information I can find on Boulters Lock is that it was built in 1772 and it was called 'Boulter' as Boulter related to an occupation rather than a family and it was the name for a 'miller' so effectively it is 'miller lock'

Thomas's son Arthur moved to the north East Some time between the 1891- and 1901 census...Sorry I can not add light to anything earler than you have already found out, but please vist- My family tree which is Bradfords of Nothumberland there is a picture of Arthur Robert Boulter who is Thomas seatons's great grandson

I have an ancestor Francis Boulter b.1779 who married Anne Middleton in Wigston 12 Jan 1817. I have not found his parents yet, but William b.1750 who married Abigail Dand might be a candidate.

I am researching the Boulters in Chippenham and Wootton Bassett. Have got as far back as John Boulter buried 28th Feb 1786 in Little Cheverell. My husbands great grandfather was Nelson Boulter b1857 in Chippenham. He married Eliza Jane Saffin and moved North with the railway, eventually settling in Sheffield. The Boulters were Brickmakers and owned some brickyards in Wootton Bassett.

I have now more information.

William Boulter was married to Hannah Ayres. She was baptised 15 Jul 1799 in Chelsea. William had died before 1839 (when she re-married). So I have no more information on him yet.

William & Hannah had the following children:-

William b. 1821
Susannah b. 1824 (married George Langston)
Isaac b. 1827
George b. 1830
Rachel b. 1833 (married George Belch)

I have an Albert BOULTER born ca 1872 in Ditchingham, Norfolk, who married an Annie.

There is an Albert BOULTER who married an Anne Hibberd at Pewsey (which is in Wiltshire) - I have not seen this certificate

In 1901 my Albert was living in Oxford with Anne.

At http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=57... there is a Private H Boulter, son of Albert and Anne Boulter of the Royal Welch Fusiliers, born Oxford. It does give his age as 30 which does not tie in.

I realise these messages were posted a few years ago, I recently started tracing my family history before christmas, and find your message real interesting!

My great-grandmother Maud Amelia Boulter was born in Cardiff in Jan quart 1903, her father possibly Albert Boulter came to Cardiff from Wiltshire, and other Boulter family lived in Bristol at this time.

Does this info link with yours in any way?
