My maiden name was Bauer which was Bour. The family was from the Alsace Lorraine area. If possible with your permission, may I look at your family page?

Also, do you know of Gerald Bour? He has a big history on the Bour Family also.

Cheers,
Terry
Terry Bauer Suchma

With the hard work of Michel Bour of France, I have my Bour lineage traced back to the 1600's in France. However, it breaks apart at points once people arrived in the U.S. I would be interested in seeing where other "Bour" families tie into my Rootsweb upload.

The family tree I have on here is under "EVERETT", and I am John W. Everett, Jr., my mother is Gloria Marie Bour-Everett, her father was Charles Adam Bour, his father was John Nicholas Bour. Most of the BOUR family tree was compiled by Marilyn Jean Bour-Davis whose father was Frank Joseph Bour, son of John Nicholas Bour, sibling to my grandfather. John Nicholas Bour was born 10 Sep 1864 in Sierstal France, died 14 Sep 1944 in Peoria Illinois. Perhaps this information will help you with your connection through the family tree. Please let me know if you need any further information about the family tree. There is a tremendous amount of information and stories I have regarding the BOUR family.

Hello Andrew,
Sebastien BOUR/BAUR was born about 1665 and deceased on March 3, 1746 in Tenteling. He married about 1701 in Tenteling with Marguerite GORIUS, born about 1680 and died on April 29, 1739 in Tenteling.
Their children were : Anne Marie (born about 1701), Elisabeth (born about 1704), Catherine (born about 1708), Madeleine (born about 1716), Anne Francoise (born about 1718), Marguerite (born in 1723) and Suzanne (born about 1724).
Their daughter Catherine BOUR, born about 1708 and deceased on April 2, 1782 in Diebling, married about 1734 in Diebling with Jean Adam BOUR, born in 1711 at Diebling and deceased on September 23, 1751 in Diebling. They would have had a son Jean Pierre BOUR (1750-1781), married with Madeleine WEBER (1761-1803).
Can you give me more information on your Pierre BOUR and Sebastian BOUR ?
Cordially.
Re: Bour family

My husband's ggg-grand-father was from the area around Phalbourg, France. Family who have done some research found records in the Metz district, Moselle Department. Since I do not know much about the area I cannot speak with authority.

His gggg-grandfather was Sebastion Bour and resided in Vaxacour.

Pierre (ggg-grandfather) married Francoise Odile. This marriage ended I would guess because of Francoise's death. Pierre married a second time to Marguerite Fugger a native of Gresswiller, France. She resided with her father Francoise Fugger on the farm of George Monton at Bois de Chene. They were married on Nov. 8, 1774.

I am taking this directly from a book a member of the family wrote, but I am not sure of the accuracy of all the information. It is a bit convoluted.

The eldest son of Pierre and Margurite was Pierre (Jr.). Pierre (Jr.) married Veronique Carabin May 6, 1806 at Lutzelbourg.

Pierre (Jr.) and Veronique had eight children: Angelique (1808), Marie (1811), Joseph (1813), Pierre (1815), Catherine (1816), Antoine (1820), Francoise (1823), Jean (1827). It appears all were born in Phalsbourg. Joseph and Francoise died in infancy.

Pierre (1815) is my husband's gg-grandfather. His son, John married Mary Dick in 1878. Their son, William married Gertrude Miller. William and Gertrude had Jerome, my husband's father.

I hope this information helps someone and in return helps me. I have no information on other children of Sebastion or who his wife may have been. I would guess that some family remained in France
