Theresa,

There are some connections on mine with the names you mention. However, they are all spelled differently. I have a Jeanne Terriau, but she was born 1664; a Perrine Bourg born 1611; a Marie M Arseneaux born 1775; a few Breaux (which may be part of the Breau family). Many of the names changed when they migrated.

Allison

I am putting together a family tree for my fiance as a surprise, and his last name is Bourg. I got some records from his family who already did a lot of research themselves. There is a Perrine Bourg 1611 from Vienne, France, and died in Port Royal, Acadia. She was married to Jehan Terriau. There is also more information about her. I believe these are probably the same people.

Hi Theresa,

I show Perrine Bourg (b. abt 1620 in LaChausse, Poitou, France, aft. 1693in Acadia.) as the dau. of my 9th g.g.grandfather Simon Bourg and his wife Helene Comptee. I am descended through his son Antoine, 1609 – 1687. I show that Perrine married Rene Landry in 1645 in Acadia.

The whole thing can get very confusing at times as the children of these families married into the same families, making g.g. grandparents appear in my lineage twice. When this happens It is almost like walking through a mine field, making sure I have each individual listed correctly. LOL Repeating of the same given name also makes it very confusing. It appears to be worse in my Irish roots.

Joseph
hi mike
well that will make us cousins and i love to share
my reg e-mail is treeturnquist@wowway.com
my great grandparents (dads side) all came from french canada and my tree seems to go in one big circle at times a bit madding when and uncle is also a cousin. for this line

i follow Bonnaventure Terriot 1641 son of Jean Terriot
and Perrine. Bonnaventures daughter Maire 1667 will have a great grandaughter named Maire Euphrosine Arsenault 1743 who will marry Joseph Pichette my 5th great grandfather
my great great grandma was lucie pichette. she married Francis Renaud.

so if i understand this right then Perrine Bourg 1620 is the daughter of Simmon Bourg not Perrine born 1611. Perrine 1611 is the daughter of Rene Breau/Braud and Maire Renaulme

Both Perrine's also just happen to be my 10th great grandmothers on different lines so that lead to a lot of ???
and i do have a few Breau in tree already

thanks for helping me slove a big mystery. Hope to hear from you soon.

Hugs
Theresa

Hi Theresa. There is a posting on Rootsweb that explains this. I don't know for sure if its right but you can look under: Perrine Rau; b: 1611; database rwtheriot2. It shows her father as Rene Braud Breau and mother as Marie Renaulme. It was on page 3 when I pulled up that name & birthdate. There are several paragraphs on the two Perrines inside the posting.

I am descended from Jean Terriot and also from Antoine Bourg. My wife is also a descendent of Jean Terriot. I'm always glad to share info & maybe find out some new stuff too.

Regards
Mike Burke
Bourg reunion at CMA2009 in New Brunswick

I received this from Cousine Shirley. I just wanted to make sure as many family members as possible know.

Paul Le Blanc
l'Ascension
Louisiane

========================================
Received the following info in regards to 3 families that will be having a reunion this summer in New Brunswick.

Shirley T. LeBlanc

Date: Wed, 29 Apr 2009 12:22:03 -0500

Good afternoon to all,

I don’t know if you are all aware of this but, Louisiane-Acadie decided that since Rachelle Dugas will be working on Louisiana’s presence at the CMA until the end of August and all of the Louisiana bid-related activities will be over soon, that we should utilize the resource to organize a reunion for the big families that seem to be missing from the list of the 2009 CMA Reunions. The one that stood out the most was the LeBlanc and then there are the Bourque’s and Melanson of which we have family members here in Louisiana who would like to attend a reunion. After speaking with Thelma Richard of FAFA in New Brunswick, we determined a plan of action that started with contacting Stephen White to get his ok. Unfortunately, after a month of trying to contact him with no luck, I was obligated to leave him a message letting him know that we are going to proceed with the project.

This morning I received the great news that we have been able to confirm a venue for the LeBlanc/Bourque/Melanson Reunion on August 21st. The Town of Tracadie-Sheila was able to negotiate an amazing deal with the Aréna de Tracadie and we will be renting it for the affordable price of $1/participant. We chose to host the reunion on August 21st because the Acadian band 1755 has decided to offer a rebate to reunion participants for their show that evening meaning that we would not need to organize a social event. Also, we will have Cajun cooks on-site at that time to cook up a lunch for the group. We need to discuss the registration fee.

I have been working with 1755 (Acadian Band) member, Roland Gauvin, on the project and he was also able to make a connection with Capacadie.com who is interesting in creating a page for the reunion on their site. This page would be capable of taking registrations. The Town of Tracadie has also confirmed that they will set up an account to receive registration fees and I will have access to the account when I get to Canada.

So, now with all of this said, we need to create a small committee to oversee the organization and programming of the Aug. 21st reunion of the LeBlanc, Melanson and Bourque families. Please keep in mind that we are going to create a opportunity for these families to get together without creating a complicated program of activities. Please send me your comments and suggestions for committee members.

I’ve sent this email to Thelma Richard, James Bourque, Ray Trahan, AJ > LeBlanc, Lisette Cormier-Noel, Cyrille LeBlanc and Eddie Melanson. I couldn’t find an email address for Hector LeBlanc or Dave LeBlanc. Please note that I would like members from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, Louisiana and elsewhere to be involved. No one will be responsible for all the work, I just need help with communicating to the families and determining what will be happening.

Merci beaucoup!

Rachelle Dugas
Candidature Congrès mondial acadien 2014 Bid
CMA 2009 - Promotion Louisiane (www.cma2009.ca)
735 rue Jefferson St.
Lafayette, LA 70501
337-422-4453 / 337-291-5489 - T
337-291-5480 - F
rachelle@louisiane-acadie.com

Visitez le www.cma2014.com et appuyez la candidature de la Louisiane!

Visit www.cma2014.com and support Louisiana's bid!
Ellis Bourg was born in Louisiana (probably Assumption Parish) in Feb 1878. He married Lynda (Linda) Naquin around 1900. Ellis and Lynda had at least 6 children: Edgar, Inez, Louis, Steven, John Joseph, and Rouno. In 1880 and 1900 they were on the censuses of Assumption Parish. Ellis died in 1914, but I have been unable to find him on the 1910 census. Ellis' parents may have been Rosiance and Cecile Bourg. I have been unable to find information about Rosiance and Cecile before or after the 1880 census. Any help would be appreciated!

Re: Perrine Bourg's husband(s) and children

Hi Kim: Saw your message and thought that I might have information on Perrine Bourg. I have a Perrine Bourg in my family tree but I don't know if it is the same Perrine. My Perrine is the daughter of Jean and Francoise Benoit. She was born 1608 in Martaize, France. She was married in 1635 in France to Jean Theriot (Theriault) born in 1601 in Martaize, France. He was the son of Jean and Marie Elizabeth Gauthier. I show two children born to Perrine and Jean: Catherine married Pierre Guilbault and Jeanne (I do not know who she married. I have no record of Perrine marrying Rene Landry who I also have in my family tree. Rene, the son of Jean Claude and Marie Salle (Sale) was born in 1634 in Lacheuse-Martaize, France and married in 1659 to Marie Bernard, born 1645. She was the daughter of Andre Bernard and Andree Guion. I show that Jean Theriot died in 1686 in Port Royal Acadia. I show that Perrine died in 1694 in Port Royal. I show that Rene died in 1692 and Marie Bernard died 10 Jan 1719. This Rene Could not have married Perrine since his first wife died after he did. I show that Perrine was married a second time but toSimon Pelletret. As I said before, I do not know if we are referring to the same Perrine Bourg or not. Anyway I hope that I did not make this more confusing for you. I hope it helps. Anyway, if you care to share more information poease e-mail me at
maltazan@cox,net.

Sincerely,
Milton

Shana,
Aubin Bourg, my great, great grandfather was the 1st Bourg in Houma. He was a sheriff and had 14 children. He died in 1898. Do you have any idea of Victor Bourg's father's name?
What year was Victor born? Maybe you can find him in the census for 1930 or earlier. If you can find him as a child in the census that would give you his parents. Sorry I am not more help.
Debi

Virginia, I am researching Hymel family, Alcide Bourg had a sister Emerante Bourg, born abt. 1815, she married a Joseph Hymel [Himel], born abt. 1815, I have seven children for this couple, I believe they lived in Assumption Parish, La. later Iberia Parish, La. Would you or anyone know the parents of Joseph Hymel [Himel]? I am only guessing, but there was a Etienne Hymel, born 1796 St. Charles Parish, La, he was married to Salomie Bourg, born abt. 1795, they had a son Etienne born about 1815, could Etienne be the first or second name of Joseph Hymel who was married to Emerante Bourg, daughter of Jean Baptiste Bourg abd Clarisse Daigle. Do you know who the parents of Salomie Bourg were?

Bobbie Hymel Wade

Maybe some of you can help me. My great grandmother was Marie Blanche Broussard daughter of Adorestine Bourg and Adeole Broussard. Marie married Euzebe (Eusebe) Provost and that is where my grandfather Adiole came from. What I am trying to find out is in 1900 Marie had a child out of wedlock. I know him as Milton Prince. All I can find on him is his SSI death record. Does anyone know anything about where he was born or anything? Even old family gossip would be something at this point.

Looking for information regarding the Bourg family that settled in Woody Creek Colorado in the late 1800's. It appears that Benedict Bourg was born about 1842 in France. He was married to Eulalia Raroux (spelling may not be correct) who was born about 1848 (probably in France). They owned a big ranch at Woody Creek, losing it in the depression. Does anybody know of this family? Any help you can supply would be greatly appreciated.

Marguerite BOURG and Charles BERGERON, mid 1700s?

I am having trouble finding marriage info for this couple. They are listed as the parents of Charles BERGERON who married Marie Louise BARIL (BARE) in Gentilly Quebec on 17 Jan 1820. Both Charles and Louise had been married previously, he to Jos. LEBLANC (7 Apr 1777 -- year seems off to me) and she to Antoine HOUD (7 Feb 1809). Both spouses died. Can anyone help?
