First - here is the logic that I'm working off of...There is some support for the theory that Basil Bourgeot (1776-18xx) is the link between Quentin Bourgeot (b 1739) and Basil Bushroe (b 1797; who is my ggg grandfather, f/o Edward Bushroe; born Rochester, New York). This is based upon the Mormon IGI, the PRDH, and the on-line Dictionary of Canadian Biography. Another wonderful researcher (Tom) found that Victor is a given name in the Bourgeot/Bourgeau family. My Edward Bushroe named one of his sons Victor. Often given names are repeated in families. Might that be the case here? If so, Edward Bushroe had an uncle Victor and a granduncle Victor.
Also, it was found that Quentin Bourgeot (1739-1825) had at least 12 children. Basil Bourgeot (1776-18xx) was the 5th child. The 12th child was Victor Bourgeot(1791-1853).
Now. the unanswered question is: were Basil Bourgeot (b 1776) and Marie Lavoie (or a previous wife) the parents of Basil Bourgeot/Bushroe (b 1797), the f/o of my Edward Bushroe? Or put another way: was Basil Bourgeot/Bushroe (b 1797), the f/o of your Edward Bushroe. and the Victor Bourgeau/Bourgeault (b 1809) brothers or cousins?
When it comes to Basil Bushroe (circ. prior 1797) who married Julie Iott and immigranted to New York, and then to Monroe, Michigan - there is a wall when it comes to find who his parents are in Monroe. PLEASE HELP if possible.
