I don't think I can help you. I have in my genealogy a Olivier BOURGEOIS probably born in Belgium around 1960. I have no idea about who was his mother. His father was Jean Louis BOURGEOIS born in 1939 in Belgium.
Just for fun, Jean Louis BOURGEOIS has a brother whose family name is BOURGOIS.

I'm adopted, but my adopted fathers name was bourgois. I was told it was once bourgeois. His father's name was oliver bourgois.

Do you have any idea where your family members may have settled in the U.S.? It might help any researchers here if you could tell us that. You might also want to look at the Bourgeois surname message board, in case any of the family names were changed in this country. You provided wonderful detail on birth dates and on the family names of the women who married into your family.

I had no trouble understanding your English at all. (I would not even have attempted to post anything in French!)

Many thanks to your message.
I have absolutely no idea where my family members may have settled in the U.S.The only information I have comes from an old lady from my family. She says some children of the Bourgois Decatoire couple went to the U.S. She probably heard this from her parents or grandparents. But unfortunately she does'nt know more about this.
It is a good idea to tell me to look at the Bourgeois surname board. But the problem is, there are to many Bourgeois.
Please excuse me to be so late to answer, but I was on vacation.

Hi. My name is Bernard Bourgois. I am french. My origins are frim Belgium through my great-grant-father. He was the 9th child of a family of 11 children whose father André BOURGOIS and mother Joséphine DECATOIRE were living in Belgium, at Forest, a little village of the Hainaut county.
I heard from my family that some of the children of the BOURGOIS DECATOIRE couple probably left Europe for the USA between 1850 and 1900.
The children who might have emigrated to the USA are :

1. BOURGOIS or BOURGEOIS Toussaint born in Belgium (Forest) in 1813, married with Catherine THOMATO. They had 5 children all born in Paris, France :
Julie Joséphine born in 1846, François Gustave born in 1848, Henriette Théodorine and Jules Louis born in 1850, Henriette Célina born in 1853.
2. BOURGOIS Joséphine Joseph born in Belgium (Forest) in 1822 and married with François LATOUR in Paris, France in 1852. They had one child : François Joseph LATOUR born in Paris in 1853.
3. BOURGOIS Joséphine born in Belgium (Forest) in 1840. She was the daughter of the 5th child of the couple BOURGOIS DECATOIRE. She got married in Paris with Louis DAMERON in 1863. They had 4 children all born in Paris, France: Louis Born in 1864, Adélaïde born in 1867, Louise Marie born in 1869 and Claudine Marie born in 1871 and die in 1872.
I am also looking for Edouard Louis BOURGOIS born at Clichy sous Bois, near Paris, in 1901 and his brother, Emile Léopold BOURGOIS, born at the same place in 1904. Their parents were Joseph BOURGOIS and Léonie CANSSE.
The last one I am looking for is Clémentine Louise BOURGOIS born in Clichy sous Bois in 1885. She probably letf France before 1939.
