I am sorry but you did not state your name. I "think" your name is Linda, right? My Great Grandfather Leandre, was your Step Great-Grandfather. My name is Becky Bourque Hampton. Mentor was my grandfather. Ray Bourque is youngest son is my father. My uncle JB Bourque lived in Lewisburg and died in 1989. My uncle Johnny Bourque is now in nursing home with Alzheimers. I bought his home 3 yrs ago on Bourque Rd in Lewisburg. It is a Rental Property now. My uncle Raoul Bourque lives on Pecan Rd in Lewisburg.
I remember Leon Bourque. But I remember your mom more than him. Back when I was little, they used to allow kids to go into the bars. I would sit at the counter while my dad played pool. Your mom would fix me a cherry coke. Not the stuff that is a can today. A cold coke out of a bottle, with cherry juice, and cherries on the bottom. Then she would give me a Milky way candy bar. Everytime I would go there.
I can remember the cajun dances at Bourque's. I remember my relatives for generations dancing at those dances. I went to a few myself in my early teens.
I actually have your mom's information, tombstone and obituary saved in my tree here on Ancestry.com
Send me your email address and I will email you the link to see my family tree.
I also saved your mom's picture, tombstone, and obit on

I did not know your sister. However, I remember the news story about her murder. It was a domestic violence case, that the police just ignored that day...truly tragic. I also knew that you had a brother that committed sucide.

I live in Baton Rouge, but visit Opelousas/Lewisburg at least every 4-6 weekends.
