Zenon's niece Marie Boutte was my great grandmother. My grandfather recieved a check from the oil royalties settlement some time before I was born, 1964. One thing we can be sure of is that Zenon was the owner of land in Baritaria. Lafitte's base of operations was in Baritaria at the time of the battel of New Orleans. If court documents can prove that Zenon owned the land at the same time Lafitte was there then we can only assume that he at least knew of Lafitte's presence there. If anyone has anything more solid then please let me know.

My Great Grandmother was a Marie Boutte born June 30 1874. (I am pretty certain about the year, from what I remember from seeing the grave in Arnaudville) She was married to a Horace Meche. I don't know if this is the same person or maybe an aunt or my great great grandmother.

I too believe that I am a descendant of Andre Claude Boutte and Fanchon. My great grandmother was Mary Frilot and my mother's maiden name was Olivier, (spelled a little bit differently than yours without the extra i.... I found this very interesting .... my mother was born in St. Martinsville , La. Is that where you are from? I am so curious to know more about Fanchon... and what country she originated from... If she came from Africa or France or the Canary Islands?? Do you know any of this??

does anyone know if andre claude boutte, who was the son of a claude boutte married to jeanne ferle from Bourseville, France and the grandson of Guillaume Boutte, great grandfather Boutte emigrated to France from Holland?
I know that Andre Claude was born in bourserville, france which is in the diocese of amiens and that bourseville is a village in amiens and the church he was baptized at was notre dame and that andre claude boutte was the husband of Marie ann josephe Bodin dit miragouin. any information would be appreciated

The Boutte family married into the Degruy family, the wives of both Francois Cezar and Antoine, were the Degruy sisters, Marie Therese, and Hycinathe, and they were the daughters of Jean Baptiste Valentine Verloine Degruy, Dumnin Duffouchard, Knight of the Foli and his wife Marie Therese Aufree, who was the daughter of Antoine Aufree and his wife, Mathurin Guillmet of New Orleans. Also, there were four boys, Jean Baptiste, Pierre Dumni, Joseph Verloin, and Antoine Duffouchard Degruise.
Jean Baptiste Verloin Degruise was born and chirstened at Versallies in France and the Degruise family was at the Court of King Louis XVI the Sun King. The Degruy family relates to the Counts of Verloin in Champagne, France and the Counts of Gruveyere in Switzerland. There is a castle in Switzerland named Gruveyere Castle, where the Counts of Gruveyere lived and the 19th Count fled from there when he could no longer make the payments for renovating the castle in the elegant savoyland style and I don't know where he ran off to. Must have been either France or England as the Degruy family is related to the royalty of both countries.
I suspect that the mother of Jean Baptiste Degruise maiden name might be Valentine, and those other last names, Duffouchard and Duemni are names of grandmothers maiden names, that was the custom to give a child the last names of grandmothers. I know that Jean Baptiste Degruise put on a legal paper that grandpre and grandmere degruise were of switzerland, but I have never found their names.
I have heard that Jean Baptiste Degruise was the lover of Queen Marie Therese of France and when the love sparks died out, he was sent or exiled to the Louisiana Territory and he was in Illinois at Fort Chartres and the environs of Kaskaskia, Ill before coming to New Orleans, he owned a plantaton in St. Charles parish, and after his death his widow, Marie Therese Aufree Degruise remarried Joseph Dusiau de la Loire, who was a former soldier of Napoleon Bonparte, and they had children and one of their daughters, Jospehine Dusau de la Loire became the wife of Cesaire DeBlanc of St. Martin Parish, La.
Jean Baptiste Verloin Degruise came to Illinois as a naval officer in the service of the King of France, and he married Marie Therese Aufrere while he was in Illinois as he and his mother in law, Mathurin G. Aufree, owned a tract of land together in the environs of Kaskaskia, Ill.

do you know who Jean Boutte, was that came to Mobile with the French army and was deported from the port of Mobile for losing his discharge papers on Madeline Street in MObile, Ala and this was during the 1750' to 1760's

Hello, Heidi. I am researching the Dupre family for a friend, and the related Boutte connection. I believe Tamar Boutte, daughter of Joseph and Clementine, is the same individual as Albertine Boutte who married Joseph Dupre on 24 Feb 1892 in New Orleans. I found a record which gives her full name as Albertine Tamar Boutte Dupre. Do you have any information which would confirm this? I would be happy to share the information I have.

I have a birthdate of 1732 for Fanchon. Her real name was Francoise. Fanchon is the diminutive of Francoise.

Andre Claude Boutte gave Fanchon her freedom upon his death. He also freed their children.

My interest is information on Boutte-DeGruy interrelationships. Of course I know about Francois Cesar and Marie Therese Verloin De Gruy, and also Antoine Hilaire and Marie Francoise Hyacinte [Marie Therese's sister], but I am anxious to find more on info... on these and any other connections.

I am curious as to whether anyone has any birth info on these Degruy girls or the plantations they may have lived on during their marriage to the Bouttes.

Hello! I am greatgrandaughter of Victorine Frilot who married Henri Vincent and had my grandmother, Adorise. Adorise married Wilfred Olivier and had my mother Ella. My mother married Irvin Pierre Plaisance and they had me. Back to great grandmother Victorine who was the daughter of Rosette Boutte, daughter of Andre Claude Boutte and Fanchon. Do you have any details on this line? I am aware that Fanchon was wife and freed slave of Andre Boutte. Do you know more of her history, her family, her place of birth and their story together?

Hello! I am trying to get information on my ancestor Francoise Fanchon Boutte. I am a descendent from Andre Claude and Fanchon's youngest child, Rosette. Rosette married Claude Frilot and had a son Phillipe... Phillipe's daughter Victorine Frilot married Henri Vincent. Henri and Victorine are my great grandparents on my maternal side. Do you have information you could share on Fanchon. Her history, her parents, her birthplace??? It is so fascinating...
