Hi,
I read the discussion about the Bouviers with interest. I'm of the Bouvier line, through my mother who is descended from Rebecca Bouvier, b. 1791 in Bethnal Green, daughter of Samuel, b. 1755. Rebecca married William Mattocks and I have drawn a blank with him. Does anyone out there have any information at all about this man?
Cheers,
Lisa.

Looking for Info on Delphine Bouvier Plattsburgh, NY

This woman is listed on my great grandmother's birth certificate. I have no birthday or information on her other than she gave birth to my great grandmother Elisabeth Mary Antoine (Bess/Bessie)in 1896 and a son George Antoine in 1894. She was supposedly married to George Antoine born about 1864. She left the family when my great grandmother was a toddler and was never seen again. I have a source in the family that says Delphine remarried and had a daughter Angeline. Please help.

Thank you,

Erica Sanders
Hi, Joni,

I believe we share a set of grandparents. I have never been able to connect Charles to his grandparents Adolphe and Matilde via legal paper, but Charles consistently said his grandmother was Matilde England and had this picture of a thin old dour woman dressed in black.
Carrie in Massachusetts

Hi,
I am also related to the Bouviers in Mass (not the Jackie O's) I am having a difficult time establishing a link from my relatives to those in the dictionaire. My grandfather was Charles Alexander Bouvier married to Elizabeth Hallem. Son of Charles A. or Alexander Charles Bouvier whose wife was Emma Tessier. Alexanders father was possibly Adolphe but I can't find the paper trail. Can you help? Thanks, Joni

Errors involving Joseph Bouvier

I would appreciate Carole Smidt deleting her posting of Joseph Bouvier that she copied from research I did years ago that has been proven to be incorrect. The father of George Alfred Bouvier is Joseph Bouvier (born 1847 not 1825) and he was only married once to Virginie LaBelle (born 1846), the mother of six children only. Aurelie Bourgie is NOT the mother of the children of my ancestor, although she was married to another Joseph Bouvier and had children by him.

There are also postings of living family members that I found by accident and whose privacy has been invaded. Please remove those as well. I have tried to reach you, but have been unsuccessful.

Thanks..

I don't have documentation regarding the other marriage of Joseph other than the information contained on http://bouviers.tripod.com/ which draws from the Dictionaire des Bouviers. Do you have any info on the other children of Therese and Louis? I am related to Odile Bouvier who was one of their daughters. Unfortunately, the only info I can find implies that there were two Odiles who both died in infancy. However, my Odile's death cert. lists her parents as above. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

My great-grandfather Joseph Clair Bouvier was born in Italy in 1849 (hamlet of Thures, part of the comune of Cesana Torinese, Mandamento of Cesana, Circondario of Susa, province of Torino). This location is very near the border with France. I am interested in any information about Bouviers from this area, why there were French living in the area and for how long, etc - all the background I can get.
His family moved to Toulon, France about 1870; from there he left for New York in 1876 married to an English or Scottish woman named Sarah Jane McLeird (?) whose marriage I have never found in Italy, France or England/Scotland.
