Rose M. Bovee,
died Friday, September 23, 2011,
at UPMC Hamot.
She was born May 11, 1919 in Erie, a daughter of the late Romeo and Julia Fortuna Smitti. Rose was a member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church, and a member of the Homemakers Sunday School Class. She was a graduate of East High School in June 1937 and Erie Business College in 1939. She was employed as a secretary of Erie Business College and later at Erie Insurance Exchange as receptionist, telephone operator, and secretary to H.O. Hirt. Survivors include her husband to whom she was married for 69 years, Howard P. Bovee; one sister-in-law, Kay Smitti; two very special nephews and nieces, David and Diana Smitti and George and Cathy Munro; and several other nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters. Visiting hours are private and for the family only. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. The Brugger Funeral Home and Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Glenwood United Methodist Church, 2931 Myrtle St., Erie, PA 16508
