I just saw your inquiry about Ida Boward from last October. Did you ever find her parents? If not, I may have some leads for you.
A 1980 paper entitled "Jacob Boward's Family 1792-1980" (compiled and edited by Robert Edward Boward, assisted by several other family members) shows an Ida B. Boward (1-22-1876 to 2-26-1957, daughter of John Wesley Boward and Mary E. Riley) married to a Richard Sapp (9-22-1870 to 7-1-1956), no date or place given for the marriage. The paper reports they had five children around the turn of the last century (Sarah B., Etta, Joe, Harry, and Alice), the last two reported as having died in infancy. Does that sound enough like your Ida? It seems to match except for her husband's first name and her birth month.
If so, her father John is listed as the eighth of ten children born to Jacob Boward (1792-1867) and Catharine Waggoner (1796-1882). My wife is descended from John's brother Upton Boward.
One of my wife's relatives thinks Jacob's mother's name was Margaret, but she didn't know Margaret's last name. Sources on the web suggest that Jacob Boward's father's name was Michael.
The booklet lists Jacob's siblings and some of their children, but its focus is on Jacob's descendants. It lists a couple of dozen source books, but does not show which ones support which listed lineages.
I don't know whether copies of the booklet are still available, but I can give you the ordering information if you write me directly. At least one of the assistance editors is still around.
