Bowbrick appears to be almost entirely in the counties of Sussex and Surrey (noting that many of the towns now considered to be part of Middlesex, were in the period prior to around 1855 considered to be in Surrey)
Lesley
Australia

Hi Guys,
I am not related to the Bowbrick family, but I recently helped a novice who was looking at this family. He was descended through Elizabeth Hannah BOWBRICK b 1883 Southwark married 1909 Claude Hitchcock. Elizabeth was the last child of John BOWBRICK and Martha CHANDLER (d 1892) m 1859 Newington,John and Martha lived in the St Savious Reg district (Southwark) and Camberwell for pretty much all their lives. On the death of Martha, John remarried Caroline HOARE (Dec quarter 1893).
John Bowbrick was bn c 1836-7, the son of John BOWBRICK (Hat Buyer) and Maria (possibly BUCKINGHAM...the source for the Buckingham name is a submitted IGI entry. The birth certificate for Eliza, the child born after John would verify this). John Bowbrick (Hat Buyer) bn c 1814-16 was the son of John BOWBRICK and Hannah (Probably LOWMAN).
Can confirm that Hannah was born in Bristol in c1787(source 1851 census).
There is an extracted entry in the IGI showing a marriage of a John BOWBRICK to a Hannah LOWMAN 28 July 1805 St Boltolph London, which is probably this couple (How many Bowbrick's could there be, particularly married to Hannah!!?).

Hope this is of some interest,
regards
Lesley
Melbourne, Australia

Hi Philip,

Great to hear from you.

I must update that message as I have since indeed found out
that Jane's Maiden name was BOWBRICK, not BOWBROOK,
so you were right.

I have Eliza Saunders b 21 March 1844 Camberwell Surrey,
daughter of JANE BOWBRICK and James SAUNDERS.

Able to give you info of this line,

Hope there is a connection,

Regards Sheree

I am looking into Bowbrick families of Southwark and Camberwell, London. Bowbrook could be a transcription error? Happy to share my notes when I've deciphered them. Good luck. Philip

Looking for any info on the Bowbrook family.
Jane Bowbrook was most likely born in England, and she
married James Nathaniel Saunders. They had a daughter,
Eliza, who was born in March 1844, Camberwell Surrey,
and possibly there are other children as well.
As the Bowbrook name seems to be very rare, would love to hear from anyone out there that may have a connection.

Sheree
