Hi,

I just saw your post on the message board and was wondering if you and I have the same ancestors. Is Coosa County near Coffee County? My g-g-g-grandfather was John Bowden born in Ireland and settled in Weogufka, Coosa County Al. He was born in 1798 and Married Melissa Ann Rippeto in Montgomery, Al in 1834. They had 10 children, my g-g-grandfather being their second born named John Harrison Bowden. He married Celia Jane Bowden and they had three children, Alfred, Benjamin (my g-grandfather who married Mary Brown) and Mary Ann. John was killed in the Civil War and Celia married Thomas Bazemore and they had four children. After the war John and Melissa moved to La. with their last 8 children. If I'm in the right family tree please contact me. I was thinking of starting a Bowden Reunion, but if there is already one for the family then I would like to come to the next one.

Thank you for reading all this. My e-mail address is fplbeth@yahoo.com.

Take care, Beth Carlin
