He married (2) VEDA ROSE RELYEA 14 Jul 1900 in New Plymouth, Payette County, Idaho, daughter of ADELBERT RELYEA and AMANDA KEELER. She was born 30 Jun 1882 in Jackson, Jackson Co., Michigan, and died 10 Jul 1952 in Nampa, Canyon County, Idaho.

(Idaho Free Press, Nampa, Idaho, Saturday, September 10, 1938)
Freeman C. Bower, 81, Dies in Nampa - Freeman Cleveland Bower, 81, died at a local hospital early today following an illness of several months. Deceased was a Boise Valley pioneer having come here in 1893 from Texas. During his residence in Idaho he has operated grocery and confectionary businesses in Boise, Emmett and New Plymouth. The past few years Mr. Bower made his home in Nampa with his daughter, Mrs. R. C. Hooker. Other surviving children are O.H. (Oscar Homer) Bower of Dallas, Texas, Orville Bower of Oakland, Cal., Mrs. Ruth Schoonover of Philadelphia, Pa. and Miss Dorothy Bower of New Plymouth. Seven grandchildren also survive. The body is at Robinson's mortuary pending announcement of funeral arrangements.

Freeman Cleveland Bower is buried in Parkview Cemetery, New Plymouth, Payette County, Idaho.

1925 - After divorce from Freeman Bower about 1922, Veda Rose (Relyea) Bower moved to Grimes, Colusa County, California with daughter, Dorothy Ann Bower. There she worked as a cook for ranch hands. She met B-I-L James K Dobson who was married to her sister, Nellie Belle (Relyea) Dobson, and living in Dixon, California. Nellie was killed on 1/24/1928 in an auto-bus accident in Woodland, Yolo County, California. After Nellie's death, Veda and James Dobson were married and returned to live in New Plymouth, Payette County, Idaho.
