Truth is, we don't know much about him. We know that he was married to Mary Jane Thornton and that they had a daughter named Lucy, b. Feb. 11, 1876 in Onawa, Iowa. Both Mary Jane and her daughter died and were buried in Blair, Washington County, Nebraska.

I don't know what happened to Giles after that. Haven't found him on the Nebraska censuses yet either.
