Classification: Query
Surnames: Bowler, Crossland
I am trying to find more information about Joseph Bowler, a book binder born about 1844 in Nottingham.
He married Elizabeth (maiden name unknown) who was from Derby.
I have information about their children but it is their parents I would like to trace. I know nothing at all about Elizabeth's as I don't know her maiden name. (She was possibly from St. Alkmunds).
Joseph's parents were William and Elizabeth Bowler. William was a cordwainer (shoe maker) and was born about 1802 at All Saints, Derbyshire. Elizabeth was born about 1811 in Ripley Derbyshire.
I have a possible marriage of a William Bowler to an Elizabeth Crossland 1 January 1824 in Rotherham. (Source - Pallot's Marriage Index for England 1780-1837).
I have them on the 1851 and 1861 census.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
