Bolanger and other spellings come from the French name for Baker.
There are various early spellings of Bolin/Bowlin in early England and Ireland.
I am sure there are other various spellings in many other languages, that have been Anglicized

I am Joseph Randolph Bolin's youngest daughter, Mary Lynn, born September 7, 1943.
My dad's father changed his name from Short, possibly in Missouri, and probably not officially, so our particular thread of the Bolins only goes back to him.

Hello HazelWatts33, I'm 1telepbrman, aka Doug Young. I am related to Chloe Gilliam, Authur's first wife, and I've some questions for you about the Bowlin/Drinnon side of the family. If possible, can you fill me in on:

The Native American themes I've heard of.
Any early pictures of Chloe and Authur or their child, Opal.
Any marriage license or story's about Chloe/Authur/Opal.

My conection is: I'm Chloe's grandson. She is in Dayton Ohio, alive and well, 90 years old. I call her about every day, yet her memory is fading. I have heard about some Indian conections, but that was along time ago. She married Cleo Lowe around 1936, and had two other children, Edgar and Debbie, I'm from Debbie.

I’m looking for any information on, Joshua Bowlin, who married Nancy Holiday in 1844. Joshua was known to have lived and maybe been adopted by Col.Joe Hewitt or Howard. Hewitt owned a Plantation in the Floyd County area. He was also the owner of Hewitt Stock & Slave. Hewitt sold his property and along with Joshua Bowlin moved to the Raleigh County West Virginia where Joshua passed in 1877. We are trying to find out Joshua’s parent’s names or anyone else that was married, related, siblings, children, ECT… (Looking for any documented proof). Other names associated with Joshua Bowlin are.

Looking for information on this Bowlen. Opha's brother might be Joshua Bowlen who married Nancy Holliday 1844 in Floyd CO. VA., Opha is found living with Joshua in the 1850 Floyd CO. VA. census.
I have been looking for 3 years now for the parents of Joshua, and if Opha is a sister. At this time I am assuming Opha is a womans name.

My Bowlins I find 1st in 1850 Census in Greene Co. TN, and they stayed there several generations .
I have not been able to follow Lydia Ann Bowlin b. 1854 and Nancy Ann Bowlin b 1856 To Asa and Mary Ann Mays Bowlin.
I also don't have parents for Asa Bowlin b. 1931 VA

That's about really all I know. Her name was Susie Bowlin. She was fb Cherokee. Had an illegitimate son born March 4, 1858, Sneedville, Hancock Co., TN. His name was William Jasper. At some point in time she {Susie} ended up in GA & walked the Trail of Tears to Oklahoma. By that time, within an 18 year time frame from the birth of her son Wm. Jasper, she had married & had another son. If she had kids in between, I do not know. My GGgrandpa went by the names of Wm. Jasper Campbell, Wm. Jasper Hayes & probably at the time of his birth he was Wm. Bowlin. I'm sorry that's all I have.

this is my current listing on RootsWeb.
Samuel Linebaugh has a sister Malinda. I have 3 unnamed daughters Samuel and Nancy Unknown had listed in the 1840 Greene Co. TN Census. They were all out of the house by the 1850 . I will check my resources for anything else. I have a Riley Jones that descends from a well researched line. A group of Jones researchers of about 12 have traced this family.

I have a Charles born in 1892 he is listed still in Greene Co. TN in 1910. I have never found the parents or siblings of Asa Bowlin. Asa is the grandfather of Charles b.1892. Exact parents of Charles are also unknown

You posted this long long time ago. I am looking for Linebaugh in Greene Co TN married James A and then his brother Riley Jones. Her name is Malinda Elizabeth Linebaugh 1825. I am trying to confirmm her parents, believe them to be Samuel and Nancy Unknown. James and Riley also have a brother WIlliam who married a Christina Linebaugh 1838, can not guess on her parents. Any help would be great. also if the Jones' you have are from the Daniel Jones decendents would appriciate knowing who Robert Daniels son and Daniels true children are. Thank you.

Riley is James A Jones brother, James being married to Malinda Linebaugh and dying in the Civil and Buried at Anderson Prison, GA. Malinda and Christina Linebaugh were the mysteries, who their parents were, I was told once Daniel was Malinda's father, then found where Samuel and his wife Nancy unknown had a daughter about 1824.Melinda is 1828.Appreciate your help.

Do any of you know anything about Sam Bowlin (birth 1868) of Tennessee? He was married to a Mollie Bowlin (don't know her maiden name yet) and they were my great grandparents. If anyone knows anything, please let me know at melatyou@msn.com. I am just starting this and don't have much information at all. I'm researching from Clay Felts back and that's as far as I have gotten. Anything would be so appreciated, especially if anyone has any pictures or any other information.
