My grandmother was born a Bowman and her grandfather was Isaac Newton Bowman. they lived in Woodstock Virginia. Her mother was Mary Catherine Bowman and she never married. so my grandmother was born out of wedlock. Isaac's wife was Catherine Meek Clower and they had seven daughters. I have been trying to find my great grandfathers parents for 25 years and have had no luck. he was born 1820 at the mill near strasburg Va. he served in the civil war. I have his military papers and his obituary. he is buried in the church cemt. on Spring St. in Woodstock.
