Classification: Query
Surnames: Bowman, Jackson, Asay
Seeking father of Sarah E. Bowman, aka Sallie, c1840-43, Upper Freehold, Monmouth, NJ.
Mother was Ellen unknown, c1820 Monmouth, NJ. Father apparently gone or dead by 1850.
Sarah & Ellen first appear 1850 Upper Freehold in household of William Jackson.
8-year-old Joseph Bowman living with Mitchell family next door could be a possible brother of Sarah.
Anyone have Sarah/Sallie E. or Joseph Bowman in their Bowman family in Upper Freehold?
Ellen later married William Jackson and Sarah married 3 times, died 1896, is buried at Fair View cemetery in Middletown as Sarah E. Bowman wife of Daniel Asay. Ellen & William Jackson are buried at Cream Ridge.
Are there marriage/baptism records from any churches in the area at that time? Any info. would be appreciated.
Thanks. Jo
