The dad of my cousin Marsha Bowmer Thaves:
Service for George B. Bowmer, 82, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Plummer Bible Church. Burial will follow at Goldenrod Cemetery in Tekoa, Wash. Kramer Funeral Home in Tekoa is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bowmer, who was born in Baker, Mont., died Monday.
He moved to Plummer in 1917 and worked as a logger in the area.
Mr. Bowmer served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
In 1949 he married Virginia Abey in Latah, Wash., and they made their home in Plummer.
He logged until 1966 when he purchased the Plummer Texaco service station. He operated the station for 11 years and retired in 1977.
Mr. Bowmer was a member of the John Bloomquist Post 69 American Legion and Plummer Bible Church.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Marsha Bowmer of Spokane and Laurie Niebuhr of Plummer; a sister, Freda King of Fairfield, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
