Thomas Walter Bown
1840 Columbus, Franklin Co. Ohio Thomas Bown with 3 males under 5 (Wm, Thomas and Alfred) one male 15/20, and one male 30/40, one female 20/30.

1850 Cincinnati, Hamilton Co. OH Thomas Bown 1809/England noted as a painter & gilder, Rachel E 1816/MD, William H. 1836/OH, Thomas W. 1838/OH, Alfred 1839/OH, Rachael A. 1842/OH, Stephen 1844/OH, Samuel 1846/OH, John R. 1850/OH

1860 Mill Creek, Hamilton Co. OH T. Bown 50 noted as a looking glass Mfg., Rachel 44,
Alfred 29 Clerk, Rachael A. 18, Stephen P. 16, Saml. 13, John B. 11, Franklin 1853/OH, George W. 1855/OH. (Thomas nor Wm are in the household and cannot find them)

Thomas Walter Bown joined 5th OH Vol inf. Co. C as a private 5/9/1861 fron Cincinnati, OH and was discharged 9/4/1861 his pension state that he also served as Captain of 71st OH Vol Inf. And Jajor of 146th OH Vol Inf. But this is not confirmed by military records. Thomas requested pension from his service in 1890 from Marion Co., KS

1870 Center, Marion Co. KS Thomas W. Bown 31 noted as County clerk, and Samuel Bown 22, a farmer is living with a Wm. (noted as farmer and probate judge) & Anna Dugdale family.

Thomas W. Bown married Celesta 10/4/1874 in Marion Co. KS. Celesta Bown died by 1898.
1880 Marion, Marion Co. KS Thomas Walter Bown 1839 noted as a real estate agent, Celesta 1852/MO, Nellie Frances 1877/KS, Stephen Edison 1879/KS, Sarah Gentry is living with them as a boarder 1862

1900 Marion, Marion Co., KS TWW. Bown 7/1838/OH noted as Real Estate Broker and a widower said his parents were born England & WA DC., G. E. (Gert) 10/1880/KS, Morton 3/1883/KS, Walter 10/1885/KS, Alta 10/1889/KS, a Lattie BeltZ 8/1882 is living with them as a servant.

1910 Marion, Marion Co. KS Thomas Bown widower 71 city officer noted as US, Marton S. 27 noted as farmer, Alta 1890/KS single.
Thomas Walter Bown died 11/13/1924 living in Bow, Skagit Co. WA death record says living with daughter Nellie Coble and husband Claude D. in Edison at time of death. Cannot find him in 1920 census with Nellie so must have come after 1920 census. Obit says had been living with daughter Nellie for the last several months.

Thomas Bown, 84, father of Mrs. Claude Coble, died Thursday in the Coble home near Bow, from an attack of heart trouble. Although in an enfeebled condition, his sudden death was unexpected. For the past several months Mr. Bown has made his home with his daughter. He was an old soldier, having served in the Civil war. Surviving relatives are three daughters, Mrs. Claud Coble(Nellie), of Bow; Mrs. Irving Hopper (Alta May) of Monroe, and Mrs. John Woods (Gertrude), of California, one son, Walter, a brother Frank Bown of MO. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
