Boyacks from Scotland (and Mealmakers)

Lynette ( and Gerald, if you are following this
thread!)

How astonishing to see someone searching for Boyack
info along with Mealmaker info! I have been trying
to make a connection with the Boyack family
researchers, but could not locate any who were
into genealogy.

My great-grandmother was Mary Ann Boyack, daughter
of Robert Mathia Boyack and Elizabeth Clark, who
were not allowed by their respective families to
marry, once it was known Mary Ann was "on the way."
This was in Spanish Fork, Utah, in the late 1800s.
Mary Ann later married and had a family. The Boyack
tombstones are very near the sites of Mary Ann's
family graves, including my grandparents and parents,
which I always thought was interesting, as I
visited there over the years.

Robert's mother was Elizabeth Mealmaker, his
father was James Boyack, and both were from
Scotland...maybe Robert was also born in Scotland?
I don't have my records unpacked, since we
recently moved, and I have not looked at those
pages for a few years.

If this appears to be connect with your branch
of the Boyack family, I'd like to hear from you.
I'd also love to get a GEDCOM formatted copy
of Boyack records. I have a few generations
earlier than those I state, but partial information
only on direct ancestors. Certainly nothing going
back as far as you have indicated.

My sister had a friend, Sue Boyack, in Berkeley,
but I was away to school when the family moved
there, and Sue's family went to New Zealand and were
"down under" several years...and those years were
the ones when I was in the Berkeley area, so I
never really knew that family of cousins (and
don't know how many times removed!)

I worked with a Boyack, whose father was/is Jex
Boyack, also of the Utah County area, in Utah.
I have always called her "cousin," but if you know
of a connection to that contemporary family, with
Jex Boyack as father, I'd like to know about that
also, to forward to her.

Contact me directly at this e:mail address, if
it appears we may be cousins:

onkledoug@swbell.net (either spelling of "Onkle Doug" will work)

I have a non-genealogy website at:
